VINTAGE 1950s ITEMS
Displaying 21 - 40 of 115
#CC018 - Coca Cola Uniform Patch
2" wide cloth Coke uniform patch. Found in an old Coke plant over 30 years ago. Guaging by the fishtail logo, they are likely unused stock from the 1950s or 60s. Vintage Coke collectible.
$0.75
#CC040 - Pops-Rite Coca Cola Popcorn Bag
Vintage circa 1950s Pops-Rite Coca Cola popcorn bags. 8 1/2" long. I bought the one case of these that turned up in a warehouse in Tennessee. The case says Blevins noiseless bags on it. The Blevins Popcorn Co. was founded by James Victor Blevins in 1945 and was nationally famous. He trademarked the name Pops-Rite around 1948 and started the “Presidential Popcorn Poll”, in which movie goers requested a Republican or Democrat box for their popcorn. The popcorn poll predicted Truman would defeat Dewey, and for 20 years thereafter accurately predicted the results of the presidential elections. Blevins sold the Pops-Rite business in 1961. They are in really nice condition.
$2.00
#SIGN006 - Florida Valencia Oranges Sign
Vintage color 14" wide cardboard store sign. Colorful picture of a hand showing the size of an old glass with the words "Drink a Full Big Glass Every Day". The space to the left was where they wrote the prices. Uncommon sign. These are from somewhere between 1952 and 1956 when the image on this sign was the logo that appeared on most advertising for Florida oranges. They came from the basement of a large store in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania called Trimble's. The store got signs with their deliveries and threw them in piles in the basement. One of our long time customers rescued these (thank's Bob) and a number of others. They were never used, and are in very good condition, but some do have minor small age stains near the edges.
$3.50
#CH080 - Mr. Peanut Bag from the Peanut Store
Vintage 5" tall unused Mr. Peanut bag. Unused old stock from "The Peanut Store" in Wilkes Barre, PA. These came from the estate of a Planter's Peanut executive and are in really exceptional condition. Very colorful. Circa 1950.

#SIGN005 - Metal Fan Pulls with Winston and Camel Advertising
Vintage 3 1/2" diameter lithographed tin fan pulls. Brightly colored. They have the original string still attached. One side pictures a pack of camels and the other a pack on Winstons. These are a small quantity find and are from around 1954 when Winston introduced the filter cigarette. Very uncommon item. They were in a sealed box, but do have some slight signs of age.
$10.00
#TY106 - Keds Space Yo-Yo Puzzle Decoder Whistle
These are vintage Keds premiums found in storage in an old shoe store. They come in a cellophane package with directions. They explain how it is a yo-yo with a space puzzle and whistle in the side. The whistle area of the yoyo has the letters of the alphabet with long and short dashes next to them. The directions say that you blew long or short whistles according to the code to send out messages. It also has a list of "astronaut talk" including the term "photon engine" which was a popular idea in the 1950s which is the time period they are from. You may see one of these around once in a while, but not likely mint in the cellophane package like this with the directions. The ones I've seen before are used and don't have directions. In that condition, they go for around $25 each. These should be better.
$12.50

The reverse has writing on it too so the sign could be seen from either side. Reverse says "Florida Tangerines are Good for You". They came from the basement of a large store in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania called Trimble's. The store got signs with their deliveries and threw them in piles in the basement. One of our long time customers rescued these (thank's Bob) and a number of others. These are in excellent condition. Of note, magazine ads for Florida Oranges from the 1950s retail for $8 - $10.
