#SIGN054 - Blue-Tip Cigar Fan Hanger Sign
Vintage 6 1/4" wide cardboard sign advertising Blue-Tip Cigars. This was a fan hanger sign. Fan Hangers were tied to the string of store ceiling fans (before air conditioning) and slowly turned from the breeze of the fan, and so fan hanger signs are always two sided. The signs are identical on both sides. They were just found recently in the old factory and are the only examples I know of. All have some small typical paint flaking as you can see in the picture if you look close, but you won't find any better anywhere. Circa 1930s.
$1.50

Vintage 9" tall heavy cardboard cigarette holder display. The pipe holders are 4 1/2" long. It says "Be-Bop Pipe Novelty CIgarette Holders" "All Cigarette Smokers". These are from the Be-Bop era around 1950 when smoking was very popular. You put a cigarette in the holder and smoked it vertically. These are unsold stock that I pulled out of the now defunct Pressner warehouse in New York many years ago. Excellent condition. Circa 1950.

#SIGN074 - Huge Hobble Wobble Store Banner
Vintage 21 3/4" wide paper banner that was used in store to advertise the Hobble Wobble toy back in the 1950s. It was too big to fit on the scanner, so I just scanned part of it. Great graphic of a kid with a crewcut wobbling on the toy. This was the era of Hula Hoops. The Hobble Wobble was a plastic contraption that you balanced and wobbled around on. It never caught on like the hula hoop, but did have some national distribution. These are old stock signs that were still in the factory all of these years later and are in great condition. These have got that 50s look.

#SIGN035 - Florida Tangerines Sign with Tangerines in a Large Glass Bowl
Vintage color 14" wide cardboard store sign. Nice image with a glass bowl from the time period filled with tangerines. Also has a small image of the Florida Tangerine Special Train. Says "The Zipper-Skin Fruit". These are from the early 1950s which is when this style of artwork was used for Florida citrus products. The space to the right was where they wrote the prices. The reverse has writing on it too so the sign could be seen from either side. Reverse says "Florida Tangerines The Zipper-Skin Fruit". They came from the basement of a large store in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania called Trimble's. The store got signs with their deliveries and threw them in piles in the basement. One of our long time customers rescued these (thank's Bob) and a number of others. These are in excellent condition. Of note, magazine ads for Florida Oranges from the 1950s retail for $8 - $10. These should retail for substantially more. Nice unused condition.
