In 1974, a company named OTTO came onto the scene and started making cloth material backstage passes. They couldn’t be copied on a copying machine and so people couldn’t sneak in with a fake. To this day, OTTO is the biggest producer of backstage passes and they are still impossible to reproduce. They are the most widely collected type. Popular groups and cult groups from the mid 70s to the mid 90s are the most popular. They have one of the broadest appeals of all collector items as almost everyone likes music and has collected records, or CDs, or MP3s. They also make very cool affordable gifts. Framers are starting to frame them too. Great for a TV room or coffee table. What a conversation piece. When people start talking about music, you can show off your original backstage pass from a famous group. These are just really cool.
