TOYS and DIMESTORE STUFF
Displaying 1 - 20 of 37
#TY172 - 1960s Full Display Card of Toy Watches with Dancing Kids - Japan
Vintage display card with 12 toy watches. Watches are marked Japan and cards are marked "Made in Japan". These are a full 14" tall and super colorful. They picture kids dancing and playing guitars in typical 1960s outfits. The plastic covering on some of the watches have minor crazing or tiny age cracks. Doesn't really hurt them at all. The displays still look perfect. These came from a large distributorship up in the Northeast that we managed to miss before. It was loaded with all sorts of old stock. We hauled out quite a bit which you will be seeing here in the catalog for awhile. All of this stuff is unused old stock in great condition. These kinds of displays have become nearly impossible to find and this is an uncommon one (I've never seen any like it before!). 1960s.
$7.50
#TY190 - Group of 6 different "Japan" Clickers
You get 6 for $5 (that's 84¢ each). Vintage 2 1/4" tall tin litho clickers marked Japan. There are a bunch of different types, but more of some than others. So, the ones you get may vary from the ones in the picture. They are all similar. Unsold old store stock. Clickers in good condition are getting harder and harder to find and these are in great shape!
$5.00
#TY174 - Hard Plastic Doll Baby in a Basket Toy
Vintage doll baby in a basket with pink ribbon. In original cellophane bag with header. Doll is 3" long. Found these in an old warehouse up in the northeast. These are really nice. These are just a good deal. We bought 'em right and so we're going to sell them right! Unsold early 1960s stock.
$0.75
#TY175 - Post Honeycomb Toy Bike License Plate in Original Cellophane Wrapper
Vintage 4 7/8" wide tin toy license plates for bicycles. These are old factory stock that were a giveaway in Post Honeycombs in 1978. All are Idaho 1974. They are in excellent unused condition. It is very unusual to find these in the original wrappers.
$1.50
#TY178 - Hard Plastic Piggy Bank
Vintage hard plastic 4 1/2" long hard piggy bank. These are blue on one side and pink on the other. Old stock from a store on the east coast. They outlawed this type of plastic a long time ago. It can still be sold as a collectible, but you are not allowed to manufacture it any more. It's that brittle hard stuff that was a child hazard. There is no plug. Guess you had to break it when it was full. A lot of people remember these. They are in great condition.
$1.00
#TY182 - Kokeshi Doll Pencil
Vintage wooden Kokeshi doll pencil. Says "Japan" on the pencil. 8 1/2" pencil with hand painted doll at the head. Kokeshi dolls were limbless dolls and are very collectible. Master case was marked Kokeshi. We found these in an old distributorship on the East Coast. Circa 1950s.
$0.75
#TY176 - Heavy Tin Very Old Simplex Whistle
These vintage 1 3/8" tall whistles were found in the original sealed box (pictured - we are keeping it for our collection). The box is marked Kaysons Novelty Company Brooklyn, NY. Several boxes of these came out of an old warehouse on the east coast. People were guessing that they were 60 or more years old, but I think they are much older. They were in dry storage and have no rust. This thick tin which is embossed "tongue" and "lips" is more likely from an earlier era. Probably 1910s or 20s. This is the same warehouse we found unsold graniteware in and a lot of the stuff in there went way back.
$0.50
#TY177 - Baby Blue Eyes Doll
Vintage soft plastic 4" tall tall dolls in original header bags. You might remember we had some of these a number of years ago. This is an older circa 1960 version that we just found at Keystone Novelty in Pennsylvania. They have a cloth diaper and plastic bottle. Unsold stock from years ago in great condition.
$1.00
#TY139 - Pack of 4 Larger Tin Litho Japanese Emergency/Utility Cars
Vintage 1960s set of Japanese tin litho cars in original header bag. Includes a police car, fire chief car, ambulance, and taxi. Each car is 2 1/4" long which is bigger than most of these types of vehicles. Old factory stock in excellent condition. Actually unsold stock from the factory in Japan. They got stuck with a bunch of this stuff because none of the packaging had the child protection wording on it. Marked Made in Japan. These are very nice and Police, Fire Chief, and Yellow Taxi vehicles are very collectible. These are a steal at this price.
$3.50
#CA029 - Group of 10 Eastern Airlines Kiddie Wings
You get 10 for $4 (that's 40¢ each). These are vintage unused stock from around 1960. The older heavy hard plastic type. They were made in sealed packages of 10 and so have kept in very good condition. 2 5/8" wide. This is a great price on these. These came from a former employee. Eastern Airlines was considered one of the "Big Four" airlines for nearly 50 years till they hit bankrupcy. Kind of like General Motors current situation except they never recovered.
$4.00
#TY106 - Keds Space Yo-Yo Puzzle Decoder Whistle
These are vintage Keds premiums found in storage in an old shoe store. They come in a cellophane package with directions. They explain how it is a yo-yo with a space puzzle and whistle in the side. The whistle area of the yoyo has the letters of the alphabet with long and short dashes next to them. The directions say that you blew long or short whistles according to the code to send out messages. It also has a list of "astronaut talk" including the term "photon engine" which was a popular idea in the 1950s which is the time period they are from. You may see one of these around once in a while, but not likely mint in the cellophane package like this with the directions. The ones I've seen before are used and don't have directions. In that condition, they go for around $25 each. These should be better.
$12.50
#TY058 - Made in Japan Toy Convair Tin Litho Friction Plane
Vintage 1960s tin litho made in Japan friction plane in original packaging. Fairly large 7" long friction toy in excellent unused condition. Unsold stock from the long ago defunct plant in Japan where they were made for export to the US.

You get 3 for $3 (that's $1 each). Vintage Wrigley's gum snapping trick. Made of cardboard, paper, and metal and marked "Made in Japan". It has a lever like a mouse trap, so when you offer someone a stick of gum they get snapped by the lever. They still work and are the same size and look just like a real pack of gum except for the spelling of Wrigley's (they spelled it Wriggeyl's). Neat circa 1950s novelty in great shape. Unsold old stock found in warehouse storage.
