#TY917 - Singing Toy Bird Display with 12 Bird in Cages
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage colorful 7 1/2" wide with cardboard display box with 12 birds in cages in it. The birds don't work anymore. They used to squeak when you pulled the top up and down. The cages are in good shape, but they come apart easily too. They are a great display item, and are from around 1960. I have had these sitting around here for 30 years. I can't believe they got misplaced for that long. The boxes have some minor crushing from being move around, but they are in overall good shape. #DC263 - Very Large Display Board for U.S. President Milk Caps
#DC263 - Very Large Display Board for U.S. President Milk Caps
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage very large 24" wide thin cardboard display sheet. They are marked "U.S. Presidents" and goes on to explain how much fun they are to collect, and how you should save them from each bottle of milk delivered to put on the board. It has slots for 35 presidents, and each one is labeled with the president's name and an important fact about them. The last president that was used in the set was John F.  Kennedy, so they were made somewhere around 1964. The few of these that have turned up in the past were used and in awful condition. These are pretty near perfect and everybody that collects milk bottle caps needs one. They came from an old collection we recently purchased.

#UPaper063 - Japp's True-to-Nature Toupees for Men Brochure with Prices
#UPaper063 - Japp's True-to-Nature Toupees for Men Brochure with Prices
Vintage 7 1/2" tall Japp's 1920s Men's Wigs brochure with prices. These are incredible. Here's what they say "The directors in Hollywood Movie Studios brought it about. They insisted that the men who were partially bald must have a full head of hair so as to look youthful. So, these directors demanded a Toupee that could not be detected on screen." "Hence, the new Hollywood Toupee". "Baldness is a handicap to any man both from the standpoint of appearance and health. Toupees make one look 10 years younger and also prevent colds in the head." Japp's was a high end beauty care company that specialized in wigs and hair care products. They catered to wealthy clients. These were found in the building many years ago and were made during the roaring 20s right before the Great Depression. During that time period, people had lots of money to spend, and the prices for these wigs were really high for the time period. You sent them a sample of your hair and a paper drawing of your bald spot to get the color and size right. Hair-Lace Front Toupees were $40. That would be $513.07 in today's dollars!!!!!!!! The building is still here in downtown Cincinnati where these were found and has been converted to a bar that is all about the history of the building. They even have tours down there now. These are the only group of these brochures found.

#ZLCA147 - Very Rare and Very early Butterfly Brand Red Kidney Beans Can Label
Click on the image to see the incredible large image. Vintage 11 1/2" wide Olney & Floyd Butterfly Brand Red Kidney Beans label. These go back to the late 1800s and are considered some of the most beautiful labels of any type ever made. They are heavily embossed and gilded with butterflies everywhere. This was a very complicated label to make back in the day as it is stone litho in many colors and each color had to be made on a separate plate.  It might have take a craftsmen three or four months to make the plates to produce this label. There is no weight marking on it, which was required by law by around 1906. Labels this old are very very rare and hard to find. Excellent unused condition.
