#TY057 - Made in Japan Tin Friction UFO Toy
Vintage 1960s tin litho made in Japan UFO toy. 4" in diameter. Base in plastic. Top is litho tin with a plastic dome containing a roulette wheel. When you start the toy going with the friction motor, it moves along and the ball in the roulette wheel makes a whirring UFO noise. Very unusual and very scarce. Unused old store stock in excellent condition. They are listed in a Schiffer book on Masudaya Toys by Gallagher for $25 - $35 each. My guess is that they are better than that as I couldn't find any listed anywhere. They are downright rare. They were made for Masudaya Toys by the Kashiwai Metal Works in Tokyo in the 60s into the 70s.

The reverse shows wheat stalks with the famous slogan between them that reads "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". These were produced and sold right after the assassination. Excellent unused condition.

Frank Wootton is a famous artist from the time period and his works are widely collected and framed all over the world. These came from the estate of the famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist. These advertised a plastic recipe box you could get from Coke for $1.98 that had the Coke logo and said "Coke adds life to your cooking". The back side is and order form and say the offer expired May 1, 1978. We just bought part of a huge collection of Coke items. These were part of the lot. The fellow that had this stuff is a friend who searched old bottling plants and hauled most of this stuff out many years ago.

Vintage 8 1/2" tall display card has a dozen 1 3/4" wide real carved deco design early Bakelite type plastic dress clips attached. To give you an idea of the age, click the picture to see the backs. They were hand sewn onto the cards. The back of one is also shown in the larger picture with the standard back that was used for dress clips during this time period (1920s). They came from an old beauty supply store where, from what we can tell, they were stuffed away when the Great Depression hit in 1929. The cards are dusty and have bends. The clips are in unused mint condition under the dust.
