#UPaper063 - Japp's True-to-Nature Toupees for Men Brochure with Prices

Vintage 7 1/2" tall Japp's 1920s Men's Wigs brochure with prices. These are incredible. Here's what they say "The directors in Hollywood Movie Studios brought it about. They insisted that the men who were partially bald must have a full head of hair so as to look youthful. So, these directors demanded a Toupee that could not be detected on screen." "Hence, the new Hollywood Toupee". "Baldness is a handicap to any man both from the standpoint of appearance and health. Toupees make one look 10 years younger and also prevent colds in the head." Japp's was a high end beauty care company that specialized in wigs and hair care products. They catered to wealthy clients. These were found in the building many years ago and were made during the roaring 20s right before the Great Depression. During that time period, people had lots of money to spend, and the prices for these wigs were really high for the time period. You sent them a sample of your hair and a paper drawing of your bald spot to get the color and size right. Hair-Lace Front Toupees were $40. That would be $513.07 in today's dollars!!!!!!!! The building is still here in downtown Cincinnati where these were found and has been converted to a bar that is all about the history of the building. They even have tours down there now. These are the only group of these brochures found.

##MUSICGD2040 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Dancing Terrapins (Turtles)

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 5" wide Grateful Dead sticker/decal. These are high quality art decals that were made for car windows. I peeled the cover off for the picture. They are in mint condition and can still be used. This one is from around the late 1980s. It features a two dancing terrapins (turtles). The one with a guitar is a skeleton terrapin. There are butterflies in the air and four tiny bears dancing at their feet.

These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These older stickers are very hard to find anymore.

#BEADS0098 - Large Faceted and Foiled Teardrop Shaped 10mm Glass Rhinestone - Pick Your Color(s) Below

15¢ each. Vintage 10mm tall glass teardrop shaped rhinestones. Pick your color(s) below. These came from an old closed bead store just north of here. They are in nice unused condition and are very bright and sparkly and just like new. They originally came from Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Austria, and it is hard to tell which came from where. Some are Swarovski, but who knows which. What is certain is that they were all bought in the 1930s and 1940s. These are very high quality faceted glass stones. The foil coating on the reverse was there to give glue something to adhere to, as they were often used in costume jewelry. Some people like them better without the foil. They look like pirate treasure. To remove the foil, simply let the stones sit in vinegar over night with a little salt mixed in. It works like a charm. You will have a tough time finding rhinestones this size, from this time period, for this kind of price anywhere else.

Vintage 1996 Counting Crows OTTO cloth backstage pass from the Recovering the Satellites Tour. They are VIP, Guest, and All Access passes. Excellent unused condition.

Counting Crows have had numerous hits spread out over a number of years. They have had several Oscar and Grammy nominations and have won an MTV Video music award and American Music Award. Their song, "Accidentally in Love" is on the Shrek 2 soundtrack. Their song, remedy, is one of my personal all time favorites.

#TY685 - Rare Big Little Coloring Book - Mother Hubbard

Click the picture to see a detailed image of the front and back cover. Vintage 8" tall coloring book. Spectacular cover picture of a Mother Hubbard scene. Back is marked "A Big Little Coloring Book". The front is marked "Saalfield ArtCraft". 24 pages of coloring fun. This was one of a series of coloring books that were produced by the famous "Big Little" company from the mid 1950s up to around 1960. At 8" tall, in keeping with the Big Little tradition, they are smaller than a standard coloring book. They are unusual and rare. We recently found these up in a store in northern Ohio. Our eyes bugged out when we opened a box and found these. Unused old stock in excellent condition. The staples are starting to show some aging.

They are in great condition. These cloth backstage passes are from Green Day's 2000-2001 Warning: World Tour. These passes are 3-1/4" tall and glow under blacklight. The OTTO Manufacturing mark is on the back of the pass.

Green Day is a Rock Band that originated in 1987 in the East Bay of California. They have over 90 million in record sales and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. Green Day has been nominated for 17 Grammy Awards and won 4 times. They are number 97 on the Best Selling Albums of All-Time List.

They are marked Exhibit Supply and picture a palmistry hand. They are about 3 1/2" wide and in unused condition. Complete sets in this condition are very hard to find. There was a set for men and one for women. They tell your fortune. I am looking at one that says "Men adore and worship you; women fear and sometimes hate you......." etc. These were found in original bundles with exhibit supply packaging in storage at an old amusement park up in the northeast. Based on the packaging, I would say these are from around the 1950s
