#ZLCA207 - Rare Early Ro-So-Lite Paint Can Label

Click the picture to see a detailed enlarged image. Vintage 9" wide Ro-So-Lite paint can label. There is a small stack of these and the paint color on them varies. Other than that they all look exactly like the one in the picture. These do not have the weight listed on them (which was required around 1910), and were made by an old chromolitho process, so date some time before 1910. Very fancy detailed label with what looks like an old Sears house on it. Marked "Ro-So-Lite House Paint Rosenbush and Solomon, Inc. Chicago". They were found many years ago, and all found, including these may have some tiny corner imperfections or small stains. These are very rare and desirable labels. These came from the estate of friend and famous dealer, Bob Secrist.

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image of both sides of the passes. You get all 4 different colors as pictured for $10 (that's $2.50 each). Vintage 4 1/2" tall Van Halen "Working Personnel" OTTO cloth backstage passes from the 1995 "Balance" Tour. Unused condition.

Eddie Van Halen is widely regarded as a virtuoso guitarist and singers David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar were considered some of the best in the business. On the album "1984", "Jump" hit #1, and "Panama" and "I'll Wait" both went to the top 20. Following that, the released four number 1 albums over the following 11 years. That's quite a feat. Van Halen is the 19th best selling artist in the US of all times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. They have won numerous MTV awards, were nominated for four Grammys and won one for "Best Hard Rock Performance" in 1992.

#CC249 - Coca Cola Paper Label Bottle Brochure for the 75th Anniversary of the Elizabethtown Plant

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 3 3/4" tall 4 page brochure telling the history of the Coca Cola Hutchinson, amber, and paper label bottles. These were made in 1976 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Elizabethtown, KY Coke plant which started in 1901, and are marked as such. It also tells about the special 75th anniversary Coke bottle that they made at Elizabethtown with a paper labels that was an exact replica of the Coca Cola paper label bottle used between 1901 and 1916. It is pictured on the front of the brochure. These came from the Elizabethtown Coke museum when it was shut down and the contents auctioned awhile back. They are very uncommon. I've never seen another one.

##MUSICGD2033 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Grateful Dead Bear Riding a Lightning Bolt

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 5 1/2" wide Grateful Dead sticker/decal. These are high quality art decals that were made for car windows. I peeled the cover off for the picture. They are in mint condition and can still be used. This one is from around 1990. It features a colorful Grateful Dead Bear riding on a lightning bolt.

These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These older stickers are very hard to find anymore.
