##MUSICGD2030 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Bear and VW Symbol

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 4 1/2" tall Grateful Dead sticker/decal. This one has a lot going on. There is a Grateful Dead bear wearing a necklace with a VW (Volkswagen) pendant hanging onto a ball which is landing in the ocean. The Volkswagen bus was considered part of the Grateful Dead mystique and "VW" showed up in a lot of the artwork. Circa 1992. These are high quality art decals that were made for car windows. I peeled the cover off for the picture. They are in mint condition and can still be used.

These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These 1995 and older stickers are very hard to find anymore.

##MUSICGD2061 - Grateful Dead Window Sticker/Decal - Owl Flying Over Mountains and VW Bus

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 4 1/2" diameter Grateful Dead sticker/decal. This one has an owl flying over mountains and a Volkswagen Bus. #CS557.1 - Nicely Illustrated Group of 3 Kitchen Approved Tomato Boxes

The front and side of the box are pictured. Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get 3 for $3 (that's $1 each). Vintage 7" wide (when folded together) box. These are unusual. They are cardboard boxes with a cellophane top so that you could see the tomatoes. Brightly colored red, white, blue, and yellow images on the front and sides are striking and have an old time farm look. The same images are on both sides. They are circa 1950, and marked "Kitchen Approved Fancy Selected Tomatoes". They will be shipped folded flat, and are easy to fold together. They were in an original shipping crate, and have never seen the light of day. Everything including the cellophane windows are still in perfect condition.

##MUSICBP0881 - Lifers OTTO Cloth Backstage Pass - Rahway Prison

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image of both sides of the pass. Vintage 4 3/4" tall OTTO cloth backstage pass. Says "Lifers Group World Tour Rahway Prison, That's It". The Lifers Group was formed when Maxwell Melvins (Considered the pioneer of Prison Music) was transferred to Rahway Prison in 1987. He proposed music as a means of outreach and funding for juveniles in the prison system. Of all things, Melvins contacted Disney about the idea. They ended up getting hooked up with Disney's rap subsidiary Hollywood Basic. They produced an EP called Lifers Group World Tour: Rahway Prison, That's It" which was nominated for a grammy in 1992. So, these would from around 1991/92. Melvins served his time and has spent the last ten years since his release writing poetry and gets involved in educational events. Excellent unused condition
