This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. #BEADS0748 - Large 25mm Red Coral Colored Glass Cabochon - As Low as 50¢ each
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage large 25mm long West German red glass cabochon. Color on package says "Red Coral". It has different shades of darker red running through it. They are domed with a flat back. The white dots you see in the picture are a reflection from our ceiling lights. They are from the 1960s. Perfect, never seen the light of day condition. We found these on a recent trip to the northeast to a warehouse that has not seen the light of day for many years.

#BEADS0818 - Group of Ten 8mm Cone Shaped White Glass Czech Beads
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get 10 beads for $1.00 (that's 10¢ each). Vintage 8mm long white cone shaped zech beads. These are very hard to find and very beautiful. They are from around the 1950s. They are unsold old stock in excellent unused condition that we found in remote storage in a store up in the northeast.

#BEADS0863 - Group of 70 12mm Solid Reddish Orange Colored Glass Cherry Brand Beads

Vintage temporary strands of reddish orange solid colored larger 12mm Cherry Brand Japanese beads. These were made by hand using old techniques. They are 1940s Cherry Brand (company only existed from 1946 - 1951). As you many know, Cherry Brand was considered the highest quality Japanese bead maker. This is a very fresh find we made from a dealer in New York who originally purchased them in the 1940s. These are very hard to find, very nice, and have never seen the light of day. Click on the image to see a larger picture with more detail. Dust them off and they are like new again.

#CC320 - Coca Cola Christmas Carton Insert with Candy Cane Recipe - As low as 75¢ each
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 9" tall thin cardboard carton insert that went in a carton of Coca Cola in the 1950s. Says "Add Punch to your Holidays". It features a recipe for "Candy Cane Jingle" which of course you made with Coke. There is also a recipe of "Lime Pine".  Nice piece of old Coke advertising.

#CH326-19 - William Boyd (first appearance as Hopalong Cassidy - 1935) Eagle's Brood Poster/Broadside
Vintage 12" tall paper movie poster/broadside from the 1935 movie "Eagle's Brood" starring William Boyd. This is a rare item and was the first appearance of WIlliam Boyd as Hopalong Cassidy. Please click the picture to see a more detailed image. Back in the day, when a new movie was going to play at the local theatre, there would be a guy who would run around town tacking these things on bulletin boards, telephone poles, fence posts, or anyplace else where they might be seen. Because most were outdoors, few have survived. Some will have small edge tears or roughness, but this is true of all paper movie broadsides, and they can easily be trimmed for framing. Although, a few small imperfections kind of adds to the look with these. Colors vary. We got them from the estate of famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist. He found them in the storage area of an old theatre up in Northeast Ohio.

#CH326-21 - JImmy Wakely Song of the Range Poster/Broadside
Vintage 13+" tall paper movie poster/broadside from the 1944 movie "Song of the Range" starring famous country singer "Jimmy Wakely".  He was one of the famous "singing cowboys", and was very well known in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s for his many movie appearances and records. He had a number of songs on the top 10 charts including "Slippin' Around" which hit number 1 on the country and pop charts. #CS359 - Full Display Card of Fancy Larger Deco Dress Clips from the 1920s

Vintage 8 1/2" tall display card has a dozen 2 3/8" wide real carved deco design early plastic Bakelite type dress clips attached. They have a little fancier design that the other types we have listed. To give you an idea of the age, click the picture to see the backs. They were hand sewn onto the cards. They have the standard dress clips on that back that were used during this time period (1920s). This is a rare item. They came from an old beauty supply store where, from what we can tell, they were stuffed away when the Great Depression hit in 1929. The cards are dusty and have bends. The clips are in unused mint condition under the dust.

Advertises all sorts of Lynas beauty care products. We acquired these from the estate of Zane Shaffer who was one of the largest country store dealers on the East Coast. Folded flat. #HH204 - Large Diecut Mechanical Valentine with Duck with Flower Hat - Original Envelope
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage large 7" tall diecut mechanical valentine that features a duck wearing a flower hat. The duck's head swivels on a brass grommet. Nice condition. Fun image. The picture is set against the original envelope which is included.  From a long closed factory that made them in the 1950s. Includes original envelope. Very colorful. These days it will cost you $5 to buy a new good quality oversize card with the envelope like this. These are a real bargain.

#MS280 - Souvenir Patch for 1986 Cincinnati Fireworks - Largest Display in the World - As low as 50¢
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 4 3/4" unused souvenir patch for the 1986 Cincinnati fireworks. WEBN radio sponsored this event every year. It was considered the largest fireworks display in the world at that time. It was put on by Rozzi fireworks. Over a million people attended.Old unused condition stock that we found in the OTTO (Manufacturer) warhouse.

#SP063 - Michelob Beer Coaster - As low as 10¢ each

Everything down there was 15 to 40 years old, and so these are from somewhere in that time period. Most likely 1970s with this logo. Excellent unused condition.

#TOP009 - Sweet Mist Fine Cut Bright Tobacco Bag
Vintage paper tobacco bags. Circa 1930s. Unused stock that came from the Scotten Dillon warehouse is Detroit, MI when it closed down many years ago. A little over 5" tall. This was one of the older items in the find. Note this is slightly different from some we had in precious catalogs. This is the fine-cut bright version. Excellent unused condition.

#TY638 - Hi Lo Game with Paddle and String - As Low As $1 each
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 6" tall plastic paddle with ball on a string. The paddle has holes with different point values and you tossed the ball in the air and tried to land it in one of the holes. Colorful header. Nice shape. Staples are rusty. 1960s. Unsold carnival stock that we found in remote storage in a warehouse in northern Ohio.

#ZBOT076- Virgin Olive Oil Medicine Bottle Label
Vintage 2 3/4" tall Virgin Olive Oil bottle label. Says it was particularly valuable for food or medicine and talks about purity which would date it to around 1910. Purity was the catchword of the day in the 1910s after the passing of the Pure Food and Drug Act in 1906. Unused stock from the Philip Miller Drugstore in Chicago, IL. Great condition. There are lots of old olive oil bottles floating around but you rarely see the labels.

#ZLB041 - Mity Fine Broom Label - Chicago, Illinois
Vintage 6 1/4" tall "Mity Fine" broom label. Dated 1935. Image of a swan. Says " National Reatiler-Owned Grocers, Inc." "Chicago, Ill". These wrapped around a broom handle. Broom companies had a tough time in the 1930s and 40s when vacuum cleaners were mass produced and no longer an expensive luxury item. A lot of broom companies went out of business and the labels turn up in the old buildings occasionally. Unused old stock in nice condition. Circa 1930s. We got these from the estate of friend and famous dealer and collector Bob Secrist.

#ZLC055 - Speed Ball Carrots Crate Label
Vintage nearly 7" square label from the Maggio growers in Holtville, CA. Very colorful and unusual label. Pictures a flying ball with wings. The artist who designed the label was tring to make the connection between the name of the grower (Joe Maggio) and Joe Dimaggio (baseball player) who was very popular at that time (1940s). Unusual label that I got from a collection I bought. The collector was a fruit and vegetable inspector who ran into lots of unusual labels.
