This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. #BC054  - Group of 10 Sun-Rise Grape Soda Caps
You get 10 for $1.00 (that's 10¢ each). Vintage Sun-rise Grape Soda plastic lined soda caps. Unused,and in nice condition. Found at the Bottling plant in Marshall, MN and marked as such around the rim. Circa 1970s.

#BC082 - Group of 10 Mello Yello Bottle Caps - Green Version - (Coke Product)
You get 10 for $0.80 (that's 8¢ each). Mello Yello plastic lined soda caps. These are the green version and from around 1980. They were found at the Coca Cola plant in Jefferson City, MO and are marked as such around the rim. Excellent unused condition. Mello Yello was introduced in 1979 by Coke to compete with Mountain Dew.

#BC098 - Group of 10 Sunkist Orange Plastic Lined Soda Caps
You get 10 for $1.00 (that's 10¢ each). Vintage bright orange fancy logo Orange Sunkist plastic lined twist off soda caps. Unused old stock in great condition found at the Dr. Pepper Bottling plant in Jefferson, NC. They still use a similar style cap.

#BEADS0429 - 15mm Emerald Green Glass Navette Shaped Rhinestone with Inner White Stripes - As low as 8¢ each
Vintage good size 15mm (.6") tall emerald colored glass navette shaped rhinestone with flat back and inner white stripes. Hard to see with the glare on the picture, but these are really nice. West German from the 1950s. Near perfect condition. Priced to sell fast.

Vintage 37mm Dewan Dairy Pasteurized Chocolate Milk bottle cap. Circa 1940s. Dairy was in Oneida, N.Y. and the cap is marked as such. Deco Design. 1 3/8" diameter. Excellent unused condition.


#HH020 - Large Trick Suction Spider
Header shows kid scared by spider. 4 1/2" long vintage rubbery plastic spider you can stick on a window. Great vintage Halloween fun. Old stock from a toy distributor in the northeast. Circa 1960s. Nice condition. Still in original cellophane bags.

6 1/4" wide unused vintage 1940s Nickel-Nac Ice Milk bag. Says it is a "new delicious ice milk food treat!". Picture of a smiling sun. Great condition. Unused stock from the Frigie Corp. in Chicago, IL.

Vintage 3/4" diameter tin tobacco tag marked Taylor Bros. Best. Taylor Bros. was in Winston-Salem N.C. Circa 1920s. They show typical aging, but are in above average condition.

3 +" diameter. Dated 1921. Vintage unused stock from the plant in St. Louis. Colorful and gilded. Were used on Little Brown Jug syrup crocks. One is pictured on the label.

Vintage 5 1/4" tall shellacked stone litho broom label with a great picture of an old riverboat. Old one. Circa 1910s. Nice shape.

#ZLBE012 - Duke Beer Label - John Wayne
Vintage circa 1960s Duke beer labels. Over 4" wide labels went on a 32 oz. bottle. The brand was called Duke and had pictures of cowboys on it which was an unlicensed connection to the Duke (John Wayne) who was very popular at that time. Unused old stock from the C. Schmidt & Sons brewery in Philadelphia, PA.

10" wide vintage apple crate label with a great picture of an Eskimo on a giant pole coming out of the earth. Very colorful circa 1950 label. Unused stock from the Dwinnell Bros. Orchards in Oroville, Washington. Nice condition.

Beautiful vintage lithograph of the Sweetmex Brand of Oranges of Empacadora Buena Vista Company of Mexico. This item shows a pretty woman holding a small sign saying product of Mexico. This item was printed in the 1940's and is approximately 9" x 9".

Circa 1940s Cliff Apple Crate Label. 10 3/4" wide unused vintage stock in excellent condition. Found at the Chelan Falls Orchards warehouse in Chelan Falls, WA.

Vintage Mountain Goat Apples label. Unused stock from the Lake Chelan Growers in Chelan, WA. This is a fantastic image and a very popular label for framing. Circa 1940s.

#ZLC064 - Golden Rod Orange Crate Label
11" wide vintage circa 1920s orange crate label. Unused stock found in storage in Redlands, California many years ago. This is a very beautiful stone litho image and the original find is starting to dry up. You won't find them at this kind of price anywhere else.

#ZLC071 - Royal Bruce Vegetable Crate Label
Vintage 9" tall Royal Bruce vegetable crate label. Image of a golden knight and rampant lion which say "Do Well and Doubt Not" underneath them. This is a good selling label because of the name. As many dealers know, any vintage item with a common name on it sells well because they make a great gift for someone with that name. Circa 1940s. We bought these from a collector who had been a fruit inspector and had found many unusual old labels in his travels. Unused old stock from Burnett & Burnett in Salinas, California. These are in nice shape, but are a little brittle, so handle carefully.

#ZLC145 - Pat Hand Apple Crate Label with Royal Flush
Vintage 10 1/4" wide Pat Hand apple crate label. This is a good one. Very detailed image of an apple an a royal flush in spades. Circa 1940s. Unused stock from the Hansen Fruit Co in Yakima, WA. Printer's mark is Ridgway Litho, Seattle. Got these from a kindred spirit who also loves looking for old labels. I did some trading around to get some these for you guys. This is a hard label to find at a decent price.

#ZLC146.5 - Nuchief Apple Crate Label
Vintage 10" wide Nuchief crate label. This is one of the older versions. Used to be the most common one, but now it's very hard to find. Circa 1940s. Unused stock from the Nuchief Sales, Inc. in Wenatchee, WA. Bought these a long time ago and just found them on the bottom of another stack of labels.

Vintage 12 1/2" wide San Marcos Lemon crate label. Pictures an old farm with lemon trees and mountains in the background. Has the Sunkist mark. From Goleta Lemon Association in Goleta, CA. Nice unused condition. Circa 1940s.

#ZLC284 - Rite Grade Special Box Apples Crate Label - Indian Logo
Click the picture to see the large image with the Indian logo. Vintage 7 7/8” wide Rite Grade Apples crate label that went on a special gift box. They have the arrowhead logo with the Indian in the left corner where it says Wenoka Apples. These are old unused stock from around 1950 that were found at the Wenatchee Growers Ass'n in Wenatchee, WA. Excellent condition.

These soda labels vary in age from the 1920s to the 1960s. Most are older. Some have great images, and some are very scarce. All are in excellent unused condition. We have not been able to put together a set like this for a very long time. They are nice.
