This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. We truly hope you enjoy them as much as he did."

#CE008.1 - Group of 12 Beautiful Gourds 10¢ Seed Packs - Nice Fall/Halloween Item

Vintage unfilled (empty) Ornamental Mixed Gourds 10¢ seed packets from the Lone Star Seed Co. in San Antonio, Texas. The old stone litho images on the envelopes were probably printed in the 1940s in mass with blanks for prices and descriptions that they stamped later so they could change the prices and details later. Excellent condition.

The beautiful images on the envelopes were printed in the 1940s. The price stamps and descriptions were printed in the 1950s. Excellent condition.

#CH204 - Topo Gigio (Ed Sullivan Show) Keychain
Vintage 1 1/2" tall plastic Topo Gigio figure with hand painted feature attached to a decent quality and still useable keychain. Topo Gigio was the lead character of a children's puppet show on Italian and Spanish television in the early 1960s. The puppet became famous when he became a regular on The Ed Sullivan Show in the Mid 1960s. In 1965, a feature length motion picture "The Adventures of Topo Gigio" was released internationally. These are not licensed, but are clearly Topo Gigio figures. Based on the age of the boxes we found them in, they are from the heyday in the mid 1960s. Unused old store stock we found at our favorite toy store. Great condition. There area a couple of different color variations. If you order more than one, you will get at least two different.

They are packaged in envelopes and are a rare premium from back in the day. We found these in a warehouse way up north. Excellent unused condition.

#CS352 - Early Nif-Tee Wonder Sponge with Original Tag - As low as $1.50 each

The tag says "Nif-Tee The NEW Wonder Dish Sponge MADE OF PLASTIC" "American Copper Sponge Co. Providence 4, RI". Reverse pictures a lady and says "The Modern Way to Wash Dishes". These are old unsold stock we recently found in a store in northern Ohio. They are in nice unused condition. Colors Vary.

#CS442 - Full Unopened Box of Blu White Bluing - Hosiery Ad on Reverse

Lakewooed, Calif". These are from around 1950. The back shows an Ad for Modecraft Hosiery, and shows a semi risque (for that time) pair of legs. They are in amazing condition for their age. They might show a minor bump from case joggling, but nothing major. We acquired them from the estate of Zane Shaffer who was one of the largest country store dealers on the East Coast.

#DA071 - Vic and Kai Ice Cream Pail - Nice Graphics
Vintage 4 1/2" tall when folded up Vic and Kai one pint cardboard ice cream pail. This is the oldest of the Vic and Kai containers that turned up at the plant many years ago. It has nice graphics of snow capped mountains, an old time sailing ship, and a 1932 copyright date (they are from right around that time). Click the image to see the larger picture and great graphics. They are marked "The Peel-Pail" "Vic and Kai 665 Oliver St. No. Tonawanda, N.Y." The reverse looks the same, and the side says "We Prepare Sundaes, Banana Splits and Milk Shakes to take home". They came from the estate of friend and famous collector, Bob Secrist and are in excellent unused condition.

#DC229 - The Larry Johnson Collection - Group of 65 Different Milk/Dairy Bottle Caps
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get 65 all different for $8.00 (that's about 12¢ each). Vintage milk caps of varying size and types. Most are from the 1920s-1960s, and all came from the collection of Larry. The ones in the picture are typical. Many are uncommon. Almost all sets are similar or the same as the one pictured. However, these are completely different from ones we have offered before. Condition is near perfect on most, but there will be a few that have a rust mark or imperfection. They came from the estate of the late Larry "The Bottleman" Johnson, who was a friend. Larry was a picker his whole life, and he will be missed by the antique community.

Vintage child's toy puzzle watch. 7" long including strap. They picture Santa and say Macy's on them. Got these from an old distributorship up in the northeast where they had been sitting since the 1960s. We bought them right and are giving you a great price on them. They have the little metal balls in them you try to roll in the hole.

They are the old corny 1950s varieties. 11 of the smaller types and one large mechanical with a brass grommet and rotating duck head. Nice condition. From a long closed factory that made them in the 1950s. Very colorful.

Nice pinup art says "Hot as a Firecracker" and has a "Petty" Signature. Reverse says "Al Soldano's Zig Zag Tavern" "Calumet City, ILL". 1960s. The owner, Al Sodano was reputedly a mobster. Excellent unused condition.

#SIGN118 - Rare Early Foresters of America Paper Flag on Pin  (Early Foresters Insurance Item)

Vintage 2" wide paper flag on metal pin for the Foresters of America. These are paper flags with the same colorful illustration on both sides that say "Foresters of America" "Liberty Unity, Benevolence and Concord". Vintage 2" wide paper flag on 2 1/2" long metal pin for the Foresters of America. This was a benevolent fraternal organization that existed under this name from 1890 till 1969. It evolved from ancient European groups and also offered insurance to members. Over the years, the fraternal part of the organization was lost and it because what is now the Foresters Insurance Company! The flags are paper with some aging, and the pins have a little light rust, but these are in amazing condition for their age. These are very rare.
