This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. #ZLC395 - Rare Piper California Asparagus Crate Label - Pied Piper Pictured

This is a rare and desirable label. They came from the "Salinas Lettuce Farmers" in "Salinas, California". Circa 1950s. They are unused old stock in excellent unused condition. These came from a large label dealer we very recently bought out in Washington State.

Phoenix, Arizona" "Salinas, California". Circa 1950. These came from long time dealer Lorie Cairns who recently sold us her inventory. Lorie was one of the pioneers in this business and we are very grateful to her. Excellent unused condition.

Vintage rare 8 1/2" wide Right Fire Proof Stove Cream can label. Click the image to see the full image of the label. Circa 1910. Rooster logo in the center. They say "RIght Fire Proof Stove Cream" "A Stove and Nickel Polish". Directions on the sides. The manufacturer was the "Right Polish Co. at a Bloomfield N. J." address. These are unused old stock in nice condition. We got these from the estate of the famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist.

They picture an Indian chief and say "Chief Pocologan". It also pictures a herring. Crude colorful stone litho images. Marked "Shaw & Eillis Pocologan, Char. Co. N.B. Canada". Unused old factory stock in excellent condition.

Includes the two larger salmon can labels the you can see at the top and bottom of the picture. The rest are mostly strip labels similar to the ones pictured. Most are from around the 1950s, but they range from the 1940s to the 1980s. Heavily embossed and gilded. Pictures a bumblebee flying around clover leaves and a bunch of peas. Unused old stock in excellent condition. These came from a large scale Washington State label dealer that we recently bought out. He had assembled these sets a long time ago.

Vintage 1982 The Dark Crystal trading card wrapper . The cards were taken out of these and they are in their original folded position. The open up and flatten out easily. They are in great condition. The Dark Crystal was a movie directed by Jim Henson of Muppet fame. This is a super price on these. Jim Henson memorabilia is popular.

#ZZA247 - Factory Sealed Unopened Display box of 36 Packs of Corvette Cards - Vette Set
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You will get the full unopened display box containing 36 packs of the "Inaugural Edition Vette Set" (a little over 22¢/pack). Each pack contains 10 full color Corvette Collector's Cards. These were issued by Collect-a-card Corp. in 1991. There were 2,500 cards with real Mario Andretti signatures in random packs. The boxes are unsold stock that were stacked for many years so they look a little compressed, but when you take them out of the cellophane and set the display up the pop right back up and look like new. NO FOREIGN ORDERS.

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 11" tall paper "The Penny Magazine of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge". These are all from the 1830/40s. Yes, you are reading that right. These are extremely old. No two alike. They are 8 pages of interesting things from around the world. All have illustrations. They were published every Saturday by Charles Knight in London, England. Typical age imperfections, but still very readable and interesting. The one shown in the picture is typical.

#ZZZ169  - Printer's File Sample of Red Jacket Athletic Hose Header - Indian - Dated WWII Era
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image of both sides. Vintage 7" or large (sizes vary) thin cardboard header card. Back has a printer's file date stamp. A few have more writing like the one pictured. All are dated during the WWI era. Sizes and dates vary. Front pictures and Indian and says "Red Jacket Athletic Hose" while other side pictures on arrowhead and tells about their guarantee "Seneca Falls, NY". Very unusual and in excellent condition. Found in the files at the old factory.

Vintage large 8 1/4" tall bags say "Sterilized for your Protection" "The Recognized Sign of Cleanliness Everywhere". Great image of nurse with a cross behind her. Classic mid 1950s nurse hat and hairdo. These were used by hospitals and doctors offices back in those days. Unused stock in excellent condition. We acquired these from the estate of Zane Shaffer who was one of the largest country store dealers on the East Coast.

The grower was Joe D. Maggio who took advantage of having a name very similar to the most famous baseball great of that time Joe Dimaggio. These are from the late 1940s when Joe Dimaggio returned to baseball after joining the  army.  Deep and pretty colors. They are from the Hotville, California and are marked as such. We acquired these from a long time label dealer on the west coast that we bought out. Excellent unused condition.

These are from the day when the idea of advertising was to catch your attention. The images often had no relation to the product. This was pretty risque stuff back then. Unused stock in excellent condition that was found at the J. Vukasovich Co. in Watsonville, CA (marked as such). We acquired these from a long time label dealer on the west coast that we bought out. Excellent unused condition.
