This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. #HH084 - Toy Puzzle Watch marked Macy's and picturing Santa
Vintage child's toy puzzle watch. 7" long including strap. They picture Santa and say Macy's on them. Got these from an old distributorship up in the northeast where they had been sitting since the 1960s. We bought them right and are giving you a great price on them. They have the little metal balls in them you try to roll in the hole.

#HH190 - Large Diecut Mechanical Valentine with Lollipops with Faces and with Original Envelope

Nice condition. The picture is set against the original envelope which is included.  From a long closed factory that made them in the 1950s. Includes original envelope. Very colorful. These days it will cost you $5 to buy a new good quality oversize card with the envelope like this. These are a real bargain.

#SIGN118 - Rare Early Foresters of America Paper Flag on Pin  (Early Foresters Insurance Item)

Vintage 2" wide paper flag on metal pin for the Foresters of America. These are paper flags with the same colorful illustration on both sides that say "Foresters of America" "Liberty Unity, Benevolence and Concord". Vintage 2" wide paper flag on 2 1/2" long metal pin for the Foresters of America. This was a benevolent fraternal organization that existed under this name from 1890 till 1969. It evolved from ancient European groups and also offered insurance to members. Over the years, the fraternal part of the organization was lost and it because what is now the Foresters Insurance Company! The flags are paper with some aging, and the pins have a little light rust, but these are in amazing condition for their age. These are very rare.

#SOZ029  - Dr Pepper Book Cover
Vintage 20" wide Dr. Pepper Book Cover. You will see these occasionally but they are almost always wrinkled or damaged. Not these! These are near perfect. They are marked "The Colad Company Inc. Buffalo, NY. Copyright since 1934". The logo and bottle pictured are from the 1950s and so they are from that time period in spite of the copyright date. They are quite large and would be wonderful framed. Stock from an old bottling plant.

#TOP022 - 1950s Novelty Cigarette Holders
They are 25¢ each. If you order more than one, you will get a mixture of the two sizes and many colors like the ones in the picture. Vintage  2 1/2" - 3" long hard plastic cigarette holders.  I got these out of the defunct Pressner warehouse many many years ago where they had been sitting since around 1950. They are in excellent unused condition. Cigarette holders and novelties were popular during this early post war period.

#TY063 - Very Large Tin Litho Circus Horn

They have a plastic mouthpiece. The bottom has an image of a horse and carriage that says "World Circus" on it. These are vintage old stock that were found in a defunct factory in Japan. Excellent condition. Circa 1960.

#TY384 - Header Bag with Two Hard Plastic Hand Painted Pigs
Vintage 4" tall colorfully illustrated header bag contains two hard plastic pigs. One is carrying a rabbit. The other has his hands out. All details are hand painted. Circa 1960. Every pig collector needs one of these!! They are unusual. These are old store stock in excellent condition. They came from a long closed store that specialized in toys, sewing items, and novelties.

#ZBOT103 - Universal Special Cream Label that went on a Milk Glass Jar
Vintage 4 7/8" wide label. Great image of a period lady with scrolling. These are fantastic. They came from the remains of the Universal Medicine Company many years ago and I had a full display of the jars with the labels on them. They go on a milk glass jar. These were a little curled and so I put them under some book to straighten them out many years ago and just refound them. They still have a slight curl, but will glue on a round milk glass jar just fine. Says "Universal Vanishing Cream is an excellent preparation fror Daily Use" etc. "Universal Laboratories Chicago". They are likely right around 1900.

Vintage 9 1/2" tall vegetable label with an image of a gold miner panning for gold. They are from the Earl C. Recker Co. in Mesa, AZ and are marked as such. Vintage 7 1/4" wide gilded stone litho can label for the "Giant Cigar". These went of a tin can full of cigars. They are old stock that came from the factory at 13 Wangman St. in Rochester, NY. They have a 1930 copyright date on them and are like from the 1930s or 40s at the latest. Neat image of a period gentleman smoking a giant cigar. They look great on an old can.
