This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. #CS022 - Griddle Mix Pancake Bag
Unused 12" tall vintage pancake bags from the I. O. A. Foods Co. in Cedar Rapids, IA. Says "Griddle Mix for Buckwheat Compound Pancakes".  This company went out of business a long time ago and these were left in the warehouse.  Circa 1950.

#CS077 - Group of 12 Madam Blumer's Egg Saver Envelopes
Click the picture to see a detailed image of both sides. You get 12 for $3 (that's 25¢ each). Vintage 3 1/2" wide unfilled envelope that was an egg substitute. You mixed it with a spoonful of flour and cold water. Says that the price was 25¢ and could be used to substitute for 48 eggs which at that time would have cost $1 - $2 (eggs were only 25¢ - 50¢/dozen back then!). Circa 1910s. Unused stock that was found in storage at the Lincoln Chemical Works in Chicago, Illinois a long time ago.

#CS162 - Group of 12 Tru-Fit Elastic Sanitary Belt Envelopes

These are circa 1900 and are in good condition. They were found many years ago at the Lynas warehouse in Logansport, IN. They are marked The Logan Fabric Company. The back says "THE BELT" "is made from the finest fabric and pure rubber" etc. Said it could be reused. Great image on the front.

#CS360 - Large McConnon Tooth Powder Tin
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 5 1/4" tall McConnon Tooth Powder Tin with tin cap. Back has directions. Bottom is embossed "Made in U.S.A." These are unused old stock from around 1950 that came from the McConnon Company in Winona, Minnesota. They are marked as such. They are empty and were never filled, so they are in pretty much perfect condition. One type is darker blue than the others. Otherwise they are identical. If you order more than one, you will get both colors.

#CS382 - Group of 12 "B-L Preparation Intestinal Eliminant" Medicine Boxes from the WWII Era

Says "B-L Preparation A Fine Instestinal Eliminant" "October 1, 1943" (Which was right in the middle of WWII). Long list of strange ingredients. "Atlanta, Georgia". Nice display items for a country store. Boxes shipped folded flat as you see in the picture. This is old unused factory stock in excellent condition.

Large full color cow head on the front. The reverse pictures a dish made with the gelatine. The exact dish varies from box to box. These are from the mid 1960s, and in excellent unused condition. These were found at the "Holbrook Ice Cream Co." in Detroit, Michigan. We got them from the estate of a collector in Wisconsin. These are unused old stock found at the plant are in great condition.

Says "Farm Milk Drive-in Dairy" etc. Reverse has the same image of the farmer, and says the dairy was in Salinas, California. Unused old stock in excellent condition.

Vintage Rare large 49mm diameter cap from from the Bramkamp's Appleland in Livingston, Ohio.  These are very rare and went on a waxed megaphone style container. The roll these were in was dated 1932. These are unused and in excellent condition. These came from the estate of famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist, who had one of the best milk bottle cap collections in the country.

These came from the estate of famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist, who had one of the best milk bottle cap collections in the country.

#HH144 - Pair of Huge Christmas Picks - Santa and Snowman
You get the pair for 50¢ (That's 25¢ each). Vintage 13 1/2" Santa and Snowman picks. These were used back in the day in larger arrangements like flower pots back in the 1960s. The figures themselves are roughly 3 1/2" tall. The posts pull out of the back of the figures, so if you get one that has come apart, you just stick the post back up in it. We found these very recently very close to home in a warehouse we have been trying to get in for 20 years. They are unsold old stock that has been in dry storage and has not seen the light of day till now. They are in perfect condition.

NY." Illustrated by Maud Stumm with her signature mark. These are unused old stock that were donated to a museum that consequently went out of business and sold them! Excellent condition. These are incredibly beautiful.

Vintage 1907 (dated) 12 3/4" tall stone lithograph print on thin cardboard featuring a New York Show Girl - Knickerbocker. Marked "The Gray Litho Co. NY." These have quite a history. They are unused old stock that was originally uncovered in a San Francisco commercial building. They were donated to a museum that wanted to sell them to raise funds for a monument dedicated to Eleanor Roosevelt, but, the museum owner passed away. Now, the are here. Excellent condition. These are incredibly beautiful.

#MS269 - Group of 12 Red 1962 Michigan Enameled Metal Dog Tag Licenses
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You will get 12 for $2.40 (that's 20¢ each). Vintage 1 3/4" wide 1962 unused metal red enamel dog license (tag) from Michigan. A dealer from that area found them in storage up there, and showed up with them at the relatively local Springfield Antique Show. They are all from 1962, and each one has a different number. Almost all are Muskegon County, but there are a few others that are in there. At this price, we are not going to sort them out. They are all unused, but may have a paint flake (very minor if any), or dust that can be wiped off. These retail in the $5 - $6 range. We bought them right, so this is a super deal for you.

#NE025 - Hair Pick/Comb with embossed Black Lady

Well made comb/pick with thick heavy black plastic handle shaped into a three dimensional bust of a long necked black lady. Metal teeth. About 6” long. Circa 1960. I found these in the defunct Gulack warehouse in Brooklyn, NY. Excellent unused condition.

The reverse is a duplicate of the front pictured. They were in a master case that had a shipping date of 1963 on it. They came from the Fairmont Creamery in Omaha, Nebraska. These are old unused factory stock in excellent condition. They came from the estate of the late Larry "The Bottleman" Johnson, who was a friend. Larry was a picker his whole life, and he will be missed by the antique community.

Nice pinup art says "Any Number I'm Lonesome" and has a "Petty" Signature. Reverse says "Al Soldano's Zig Zag Tavern" "Calumet City, ILL". 1960s. The owner, Al Sodano was reputedly a mobster. Excellent unused condition.
