This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. Vintage 4" wide 1940s beer label marked "Iron City Select Beer" "INT. REV. TAX PAID" "Pittsburgh Brewing Company, Pittsburgh PA". These are unused old factory stock in excellent unused condition.

#ZLBE055 - Hudepohl 14-K Draft Beer Label
Vintage 4 1/4" wide circa 1950s Hudepohl 14-K one quart Draft Beer label. Hudepohl was a big brand back in the day and their 14-K beer was very popular back in the 1950/60s. This is an older label that my brother found in the factory when he worked there many years ago.

#ZLBE090 - Old Dutch Brand Bock Beer Bottle Label - Findlay, Ohio
Vintage 4" wide Old Dutch Brand 12 fl. ozs. beer bottle label. They are marked "Old Dutch Brand Bock Beer Brewed at Findlay, Ohio by International Breweries, Inc." "Choice hops, caramel malt, malt, corn, and purest water". The International Breweries logo was used briefly in the mid to late 1950s which is when these are from. The plant closed in 1966. They picture a Dutch couple with bottles of the beer in the center and other Dutch scenes on each side. This is a really pretty and scarce label. Excellent unused condition. These came from the estate of friend and famous dealer Bob Secrist.

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 4 3/4" wide beer bottle label says "Special Brewing Cook's GoldBlume" "Tax Paid at the Rate Prescribed by the Internal Revenue Law" "F. W. Cook Company Evansville, IND." Gilded. This is an oldy. These are from the 1930s, or perhaps older. They came from long time dealer Lorie Cairns who recently sold us her inventory. Vintage 10" tall western theme "Mustang" California Vegetables label. Unused stock from the Western Packing Co. in Guadalupe, CA. Nice condition. Circa 1950. This label has always been a good seller. It appeals to western collectors, horse collectors, and Ford "Mustang" collectors.

Vintage 9 1/2" tall Sweet Patootie California Vegetables crate label.  These are from around the 1920s and this would have been a bit scandalous on a store shelf back in the day. Shows a bare shouldered young lady with a coy look. Fantastic image. These came from long time dealer Lorie Cairns who recently sold us her inventory. Lorie was one of the pioneers in this business and we are very grateful to her. Excellent unused condition. They do have a stain mark on the reverse, but it doesn't show on the fronts.

These came from a large label dealer we bought out up in Washington State. Scarce label.

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 6 1/2" wide label says "Instant Sex Brand". From the 1960s. Colorful picture of a strutting cock. I know it's hard to believe, but these are for real. They were made during a time when the advertising focus of the day was that sex sells. They should sell like crazy in a retail environment.  The last one that sold on Ebay went for $18. They are unused new old stock from Bill Long Grower in Apopka, Florida. They are in excellent unused condition.

They have very light rippling if you look closely.

10" wide vintage evaporated milk label. Really nice stone litho image of a cow head with fancy old style print. These were found in a box under the stairs of an old cannery when it was being demolished. Scarce. Several types were found, but there weren't very many of these. Circa 1910s.
