This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. #TY738 - Flicker Action Ring with Cowboy with a Gun Peaking Out a Window
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage circa 1960 plastic gumball machine toy rings. They have a standard gumball ring base. These cowboy flicker rings are hard to find, and they are better quality than your average flicker ring. They picture a cowboy peaking out of a window ready to draw his gun. They are unmarked VariVues. Unsold old store stock in excellent condition. They came from a long closed store that specialized in toys, sewing items, and novelties. Ring colors vary.

#ZBOT053 - Queen Isabella Pure Apple Cider Label

Vintage 4 3/4" wide colorful label picturing Queen Isabella. These are in excellent condition, dated 1924, and from around that time period. Recipes on each side of the label for English Wassel and Old Fashioned Doughnuts. These are unused stock that was found in the Utt Juice Company warehouse in Justin, CA. They look great on an old bottle.


#ZBOT111 - IGA WWII Grape Juice Label
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 3 1/2" wide IGA Grape Juice label. The label features the IGA logo in a shield with an eagle and stars across the bottom. This was the kind of imagery used during WWII when these were made. They are from Chicago, IL and marked as such, and are in excellent unused condition.

#ZBOT148 - Very Fancy Early Eisemann's Fairy Cream Label with Neck Label - As low as 50¢ each
Vintage heavily embossed and gilded 3 1/2" wide Fairy Cream label with neck label. These are fantastic (click the picture to see a larger image with all the details). They say "Eisemann's Fairy Cream" "No Ladies Toilet is without it" "A Delightful and beneficial Cream for Gentlemen to use after shaving" "Guaranteed.... Food and Drugs Act June 30th, 1906" etc. These are circa 1910. Phil Eisemann was one of the premier barbershop suppliers in the early part of the century and his items are widely collected. Excellent unused condition.

#ZBOT167 - Carnation Toilet Water Barber Bottle Label - As low as 50¢ each
Vintage large 4 3/8" tall Carnation Toilet Water Barber bottle label. This is the most striking of the Eisemann labels. The embossing is very deep and the colors vibrant. Click the picture to see a larger picture of these spectacular stone litho labels. They are deeply embossed and say "Carnation Toilet Water" "Prepared by Phil Eisemann Lancaster, PA". These were found many years ago in Eisemann storage. Eisemann was one of the premier barber preparation suppliers in the early 1900s.  These are circa 1910 and in excellent unused condition. They look fantastic on an old bottle.

#ZLBE067 - Group of 20 Different Beer Bottle Labels
(Click the picture to see a bigger image). You get 20 labels for $2.50 (that's 13¢ each). These are from a large box of beer labels we bought from a collector. They are mostly from the 1960s and 1970s, but there may be one here or there that is a little newer or older. They are all in excellent unused condition. All 25 will be different and if you order more than one set, there will likely be some different labels in each set although most will be the same.

#ZLBE075 - Cook's Bock Beer Label
Vintage 4 1/2" wide Cook's Goldblume Beer label. They picture a riverboat and goat head. They are marked "F. W.  Cook Company, Inc" "Evansville, Ind." Circa 1950s. Old unused factory stock in excellent condition.

#ZLBE091 - Large Beautiful Old Craft Brew Beer Bottle Label - IRTP
Click the picture to see the full fantastic image of the label. Vintage large (for a beer label) 5 1/2" wide Old Craft Brew 32 fl oz beer bottle label. They are marked "Old Craft Brew Beer" "The Best What Is" "Brewed and Bottled by Menominee-Marinette Brewing Co. Menominee, Mich" "Tax Paid at the rate prescribed by Internal Revenue Law". This wording of the tax statement was only used from 1935 - 1938, so they are from that time period. The picture on the label is a view through a half circle window where you can see men stirring a tub of beer. Guys on each side are taste testing it.  They had the best job. Also pictures a bright fire under the kiln. Excellent unused condition. These came from the estate of friend and famous dealer Bob Secrist.

Very detailed picture of field of orange trees with the mountains in the background. Very colorful. Unused old stock from the Redlands Co-Operative Fruit Assn. in Redlands, CA. These are real beauties and in great shape. This is another very scarce label. You will likely never ever see them again at this kind of price.

Vintage 10 3/4" wide circa 1920s Sierra Vista Brand Citrus label. This is a phenomenal multi-color stone litho. A real dandy for framing. This is a fairly high priced label. They retail for $8 - $12 on Ebay. They are unused old stock that was found at the Boydston Bros. Growers in Porterville, CA. They all have a little extra no harm printing streak.

#ZLC184 - Sunkist Santa Rosa Lemon Crate Label
Vintage 12 1/4" wide Santa Rosa Lemon crate label. This is an old Sunkist Label from the Oxnard Citrus Assoc. Ventura County CA. Nice scene of the lemon fields with a worker with a donkey carrying lemons and the hacienda in the background. These are in excellent unused condition. They have a 1927 copyright date on them, but are more likely from around the 1930s.

#ZLC293 - Large Bushel Size Hy-Land-Kids Apple Crate Label - Green Version
Vintage 6 1/2" wide Hy-Land-Kids Yakima Apples crate label. This is the older version from around the 1930s. This large size is a very striking label picturing apple kids (click the picture to see a much larger image). They were found at the Cowiche Growers in Cowiche, WA. Excellent unused condition.

Vintage 10 1/2" wide colorful Rose Gold California Bartlett Pears crate label. Pictures a golden sunset in the mountain with rows of pear trees and a yellow rose. Says "Heart of the Golden Empire). The bottom part of the label is heavily gilded. Circa 1940s. Click the picture to see an extra large image. Unused stock in excellent condition from the C. Ed. Sullivan Orchards in Yuba City, Calif. and marked as such.


#ZLC322 - Huge Rare 1800s Quabaug Springs Bottle Crate Label - Quack Medicine Claims
(Click the picture to see a larger image) Vintage huge 12 1/4" wide bottle crate label from the late 1800s. Says "Quabaug Pure Spring Water" "Highly Recommended for Indigestion, Dyspepsia, La Grippe, Rheumatism, Insomnia, Malaria, Gravel, and all troubles of the kidneys and bladder" "Endorsed and prescribed by the leading physicians" "$1000 reward for the conviction of any person refilling bottles bearing our trade-mark, or for selling as Quabaug Spring Water and water not from the Quabaug Spring". Has a picture of Indian Chief "King Philip" who adopted that as his English name. These are very rare and in excellent unused condition. From the estate of long time dealer and friend Bob Secrist.

Detailed image of an Indian camp with a brave and horseback with a maiden and teepees in the background. These are unused old stock in great condition from the "Suisun Valley Fruit Growers Association" in Suisun, California and are marked as such.

They are from around the 1940s and have a colorful picture of the leaf of an American Sycamore tree. Circa 1940.  Beautiful image of an orange grove in a mountain valley Says "Idyllwild" "Victoria Avenue Citrus Ass'n Riverside Co. California". These are very pretty. We acquired these from a long time label dealer on the west coast that we bought out. Excellent unused condition.
