This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. We truly hope you enjoy them as much as he did."

#HH148 - Set of Three Kings Christmas Figures
You get all three figures for 75¢ (that's 25¢ each). Vintage small 1 3/4" - 2" tall figures. The master case said "Ivory 3 Kings figures". These are well made highly detailed figures that are sealed in cellophane packets. They are made of that old early ivory looking plastic. The tags say "Made in British Hong Kong". Even though Hong Kong was a British Colony for many years, they only used this designation on items shipped to the United States up until the early 1960s, so they are at least that old. They are uncommon. These are unsold old stock that have been in dry storage and not seen the light of day since they were made. We recently found them close to home in a warehouse we had been trying to get in for 20 years.

#PINUP054 - Movie Poster/Broadside from the 1946 "Queen of Burlesque" Movie
Vintage 13 1/2" tall paper movie poster/broadside from the 1946 movie "Queen of Burlesque".  Says "All to the Rhythm of Gay Music" "Backstage Thrills" "Dressing Room Secrets" "Evelyn Ankers The Body Beautiful" "Rose La Rose Broadways Burlesque Favorite", and lists the actors. The star, Evelyn Ankers, was a staple in 1940s horror films. These are very uncommon and fun because they are so 1940s. Please click the picture to see a more detailed image. Back in the day, when a new movie was going to play at the local theatre, there would be a guy who would run around town tacking these things on bulletin boards, telephone poles, fence posts, or anyplace else where they might be seen. Because most were outdoors, few have survived. Some will have small edge tears or roughness, but this is true of all paper movie broadsides, and they can easily be trimmed for framing. Although, a few small imperfections kind of adds to the look with these. Colors vary. We got them from the estate of famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist. He found them in the storage area of an old theatre up in Northeast Ohio.
