This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. Most, if not all of these, are WWII vintage. These are beautiful and colorful labels. This group includes Plenti Grand, On Rush, Bonnie Babe, Mity Nice, Kreme de Koke, and Irish Beauty. We acquired these from a long time label dealer on the west coast that we bought out. They are in excellent unused condition.

Vintage 11" wide Roof Garden Sweet Peas one pound four ounce can label. Very detailed and nice picture of bowls of peas. Has a very old look to it. Printer's tag is dated 1939. Unused stock from the Somerset Canning Corp. in Somerset, PA. These are not common and often retail for $4 and up. We think you will like our price better.

Vintage 12 1/2" wide Locomotive Engineer grape crate label. There are later versions of this label with zip codes on them. This is not that.  There is no zip code and the colors are deep are beautiful with inks they used in the 1940s. Fantastic image of a 1930s era train. These came fom the Thomas Mouradick Grower and Shipper in Fresno, CA.

These were produced in 1964 by the AAA Vending Company in Cincinnati, and were distributed nationwide. This stash came from the remote storage area of a novelty distributorship in Pennsylvania. Colors vary. They are unmarked but were licensed by AAA. Unused old store stock in excellent unused condition.

You get 10 for $1.00 (that's 10¢ each). Vintage Mason's Root Beer plastic lined soda bottle caps. Unused, and in nice condition. These were found at the Monarch bottling plant in Doraville, GA. Circa 1970s. This is a really pretty cap.

#BEADS0794 - Group of 10 Glass African Trade Beads
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get 10 for $3.50 (that's 35¢ each). These are African powder beads (sand cast beads) from broken strands. They are from the around the 1920s and run from about 7mm to 15mm in diameter. They were made from ground glass ballast from ships. I did notice a clay one here and there too. These were used as currency and decoration in Ghana. A friend brought these to this country many years ago. They are in typical used condition. All sorts of different types and styles. You will get a mix similar to the picture. No special requests please.

These were found in a barn in storage in upstate New York where they had been sitting unfilled since around 1920. They are getting harder and harder to come by. This group has a mixture of 30 different similar to those pictured. Assortments vary and are prepacked. No special requests please.

Vintage circa 1950s 7" wide dairy straw that pictures three milk bottles with straws on the wrappers and says "Refresh with milk" "At least three times a day!". These were found at the Sanitary Dairy in northern Ohio and are in excellent unused condition.

#MS169 - 1908 Victorian Print - Lady with a Rifle
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 1908 (dated) 12 3/4" tall stone lithograph print on thin cardboard featuring a lady out hunting with a rifle. This one is hard to find. Marked "The Gray Litho Co. NY." Illustrated by Maud Stumm with her signature mark. These have quite a history. They are unused old stock that was originally uncovered in a San Francisco commercial building. They were donated to a museum that wanted to sell them to raise funds for a monument dedicated to Eleanor Roosevelt, but, the museum owner passed away. Now, they are here. Excellent condition. These are incredibly beautiful.

#MSH031 - Pair of Scarce Giant Sized Tin Peace Symbol Pinbacks from the Late 1960s Hippie Era
You get the pair for $4 (That's $2 each). Vintage oversized 3 3/8" diameter tin lithographed peace signs. "Japan" is embossed in the metal in the back. These are well made, heavy duty pieces. They were found many years ago at the now defunct Yankee Trader store in Columbus, Ohio. These are standard hippie issue from the late 1960s, and have become very scarce.

Vintage 16" tall 1950s paper chicken box wrapper. The picture above shows the part that went on the front of the box. Click the picture to see the entire wrapper. Says "Martin's Southern Style Cut-Up Frying Chicken Poultry Enterprises Gainesville, GA". Has cooking directions listed, and pictures Martin with a bow tie and chef hat. Excellent unused condition.
