Vintage temporary strand of fancy Cherry Brand Japanese Baroque beads. They are very large heavy 14mm diameter clear glass beads. The glass is transparent and very beautiful with dimples (they called it Baroque on the master case). As you can see in the picture, these were made by hand using old techniques. The crude shapes and unusual dimple really enhance the look. These are 1940s Cherry Brand (company only existed from 1946 - 1951). As you may know, Cherry Brand was considered the highest quality Japanese bead maker. This is a very fresh find we made from a dealer in New York who originally purchased them in the 1940s.
