#MSH009 - Hippie Black Light Mobile with Zodiac Signs
#MSH009 - Hippie Black Light Mobile with Zodiac Signs
Vintage 13" tall package contains a mobile made of string and cardboard. Marked Zodiac Mobile Black Light. Also marked Japan. Signs of the Zodiac were very popular with the dawning of the "Age of Aquarius". You hang it from the ceiling and the discs twirl around. The discs are made of cardboard with the images on both sides. Very colorful and cool. Unsold stock from the mid to late 1960s. This item would be great for hanging from the ceiling of a vintage or retro store. This kind of stuff usually goes on Ebay for $12 or more and I've never seen any others in the original package in mint condition like this before. I doubt they'll ever come around again, so get them while you can. Unsold old stock from an old store in the New York area.

##MUSICBQ0218 - Rare 1986 Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Pinback Button from "Button-Up"
##MUSICBQ0218 - Rare 1986 Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Pinback Button from "Button-Up"
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. These rare 1 1/2" tall pins are marked "Button-up" and "Copyright 1986 The T-Shirt Company." around the rim. These are from around the 1986 tour. These licensed types are very scarce, yet easy to identify by the licensing info on the side of the button. Most of the musical pinbacks that you see for sale on Ebay or other online sites are reproductions. These licensed types retail for much higher prices. We uncovered them very recently in an old vending warehouse here locally. Excellent unused condition. Springsteen is number 23 on the "Rolling Stone Top 100 List, and numbers 24 and 37 on the "Best-Selling Albums of All-Time" list. He has been nominated for 50 Grammy Awards, and won 20 Grammy Awards, that is beyond impressive!  He has sold over 65.5 million albums, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

##MUSICGD2038 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Bear in Bus Saying Who are the Dead
##MUSICGD2038 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Bear in Bus Saying Who are the Dead
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage larger 10" wide Grateful Dead sticker/decal. These are high quality art decals that were made for car windows. I peeled the cover off for the picture. They are in mint condition and can still be used. This one is from the 1980s. It features a bear waving from his Volkswagen bus and saying "Who are the Dead and Why are They Following Me.

These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These 1995 and older stickers are very hard to find anymore.
