#BEADS0887 - Strand of 25 Large Cherry Brand Glass 12mm Tranlucent Sky Blue Baroque (Dimpled) Glass Beads
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get 25 Beads for $3.50 (14¢ each). Vintage temporary strand of fancy Cherry Brand Japanese Baroque beads. They are large heavy 12mm diameter Tranlucent light sky blue tranlucent glass beads. The glass is very beautiful with dimples (they called it Baroque on the master case). These were made by hand using old techniques. The crude shapes and unusual dimple really enhance the look. These are 1940s Cherry Brand (company only existed from 1946 - 1951). As you may know, Cherry Brand was considered the highest quality Japanese bead maker. This is a very fresh find we made from a dealer in New York who originally purchased them in the 1940s. These are very hard to find, very nice, and have never seen the light of day. Click on the image to see a larger picture with more detail.
$3.50

#BEADSC0081 - Copper Ladder Charm That Opens and Closes
Vintage 7/8" tall copper coated steel ladder charm. The ladder folds out. These are old store stock from the late 1940s in unused condition. The copper has a nice patina. Steel charms with copper plating were mostly made right after WWII when the price of these metals was very cheap. The price escalated rapidly between 1946 and 1950 and almost all of the charm makers went over to plastic. These are U.S. made and were bought from the original maker many many years ago. This is a very scarce and unusual charm.
