#TOP088 - Group of 3 Super Rare Very Large Packs of WWII Era Ducksbak Wetpruf Cigarette Papers

You get 3 for $9 (that's $3 each). Vintage huge 14-1/4” long full package of extremely rare Ducksbak Wetpruf Cigarette Papers. Ducksbak was a trade name for waterproof cigarette papers produced by Brown & Williamson Tobacco. They are marked “Ducksbak Wetpruf Cigarette Papers” “Genuine Aquafuge” “Made in U.S.A.”. “40 strips for 200 cigarettes”. Ducksbak was produced during WWII for soldiers in wet trenches to keep their cigarettes from getting wet. It was a huge innovation at the time. There was also an attempt to sell them commercially with marketing during WWII. These came from cold storage in a store way up north. The thin cardboard wrappers are in excellent condition with some slight paper aging. Even though it is documented that the Ducksbak Brand existed, best I can tell, no other examples have surfaced. These should probably be in a museum, rather than my basement!

This is primarily because the brand was a specialized wartime product that did not successfuly transition to the post-war civilian market" "Ducksback was likely retired in favor of Hi-Dro which had a more modern, scientific name which was typical of the post-ware era's modern marketing trends"
