This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Zane Shaffer. He was a pioneer in this field who recently left us. A lot of you have likely crossed paths with him. He was, arguably, the largest dealer in our type of merchandise on the East Coast. His family sold us a large lot of his inventory with the hope that his items will find good homes with people who appreciate them. You will see a lot of them over the next year or so, and we will mark them as such. Here is a note from his family "Whether he was gettin' his road warrior on traveling to antique markets in places like Shupp's Grove or buying/selling online, he enjoyed every minute of it. He held a very special place in his heart for the people, the places, and 'the old things'. It's really good to know that his collection will reach all the folks that had the same passion about them. Rowley warehouse in Fabius, NY many years ago. These are incredibly detailed with a wonderful Indian chief pictured.

Says "Rowley's Fancy Quality Cut Refugee Beans" "E. H. Rowley Fabius, N.Y.". Pictures a pretty pink bowl of beans. We acquired these from the estate of Zane Shaffer who was one of the largest long time dealers on the east coast. Excellent unused condition.

Vintage rare 12 3/4" wide Mt. Hamilton Asparagus can label. Click the image to see the full image of the label (it's an amazing label). Early stone litho. Circa 1910 or earlier. Pictures the Mt. Hamilton Observatory in Santa Clara County, California. This is a scarce and desirable label. Good framer. Has the look. These are unused old stock in great condition. They are a little curled, but straighten right out when framed. We got these from the estate of the famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist.

Vintage 4" wide early Virginia Dare Pale Dry Ginger Ale soda bottle label. Picture of Virginia Dare on it says "First Lady of the Land". Also says "Virginia Dare Pale Dry Ginger Ale" "The excellence of an old vintage" "Bottled under Authority" "Virginia Dare Extract Company Brooklyn, NY". These are in excellent unused condition and were found at the plant many years ago.

Vintage 12" Cry Baby grape crate label. This label should get an award for one of the best attention getters of all time. The picture of the crying baby is hilarious. #ZZZ016 - Group of 8 Different Tobacco Company Invoices from the 1940s
You get 8 different invoices for $2 (that is 25¢ each). Vintage dated 1940s invoices that were found in the Brockmeyer Co. warehouse in St. Louis. These are invoices (bills) from Tobacco companies that were sent to Brockmeyer. There are many famous companies in the mix and all have nice letterheads with company logos. They are fun to look at because they have the products listed. For example, i am looking at a United States Tobacco invoices showing where they bought 18 cases of Copenhagen dime tobacco. They are used of course and have typical aging, bends, and folds. We pitched the ones that were damaged, so they are all pretty nice.

#ZZZ126 - 1870s Advertising Trade Card for the American Woven Leather Belting Co. - Milton Bradley
Vintage 5 1/4" wide cardboard advertising trade card. This is a very old one from around 1870. This style of card was used before the advent of fancy color printing in the 1870s. Marked "The American Woven Leather Belting Co. Springfield, Mass." "Edward Coats, Pres" "Office 55 Fuller Building" "Factory, Belchertown, Mass". Interestingly, the printers mark says "Milton Bradley Co. Springfield, Mass". Around 1870, Milton Bradley had a lithography shop which is where these were made. Since they were printing boxes for their toys, they made some extra money doing lithography on the side too. They have a little paper aging, but are in amazing condition considering they are over 140 years old.

She was considered a bridge (card game) authority back in the day. Inside are recipes for Pork and Beans including info about how to decorate your bridge table. These are from the 1940s and are in nice shape with a little mionor age mark here and there. We acquired them from the estate of Zane Shaffer who was one of the largest country store dealers on the East Coast. Excellent unused condition.

Tiki design. Excellent unused condition. These came from the estate of the late Gary Nichamin. He worked for most of his career as the main photographer, graphics designer, and stage manager for the Beach Boys. He not only designed most of their passes, but also was in charge of issuing them at the concerts.

Judas Priest introduced an operatic vocal style to heavy metal with Rob Halford. They are considered one of the metal "gods". They received a Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" in 2010. They have sold over 50 million albums which is a staggering number for a metal band. Fans of this group are fanatics.

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image of both sides of the pass. Vintage 4 1/4" tall 2004 Paul McCartney laminated OTTO Backstage Pass from the "Summer" tour. They are VIP passes. Security is very tight around these passes, especially at McCartney concerts. They are hard to find. We found these in the OTTO warehouse.

Paul McCartney is the most successful composer and recording artist of all time. He has had hit after hit, even after the Beatles broke up. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 for his solo career after being inducted with the Beatles in 1988. One little known fact about him is that he has played keyboards, drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and bass guitar in addition to his vocals on many songs. He is perhaps the most talented musical artist of all times. Needless to say, between his solo career and the Beatles, there are many millions of records sold, many grammy's, and awards of all sorts.
