You get the pair for $2.50. Vintage sex detector novelties. The one with the illustration on it says "Instantly Indicates the Sex of Humans, Animals, or Insects" "Wonderful Fun-Maker" "A Scientific Instrument Better Than the Ouija Board" "Circular motion Female" "Forward and Backward Male". The illustrated package is about 3" wide and contain a small tin bobber on a string that you dangled. The larger package is about 3 3/4" all and contain a larger tin bobber on a string (pictured), but no instructions (even though it says they are inside!). Both packages are marked "Japan" and are circa 1950. We had a few of these years ago, and they were very popular. Unsold old store stock we recently recovered from a warehouse in Northeast Ohio. Packages show typical minor paper aging. Parts inside are like new.

The back shows tells what the prizes were, and that you needed to respond by June 15, 1955 to win. Prizes included bicycles, table radios, roller skates, etc.  I want the "radar space helmet"! These are unsold stock from an old warehouse near the east coast. Wonderful unused condition.

Vintage 10 1/2" tall colorful bottle hanger says "Try a Real Black Cow It's Moovelous Just add vanilla ice cream to glass of ice cold HIRES Root Beer". These are from around the mid to late 1950s when black cows were popular. I remember asking mom to make them. Old soda plant stock. This root beer advertising is getting hard to find and Hire's items like this are very tough.

5" tall onionskin type paper with the famous C and O and B & O logos. Gauging by wrapping on these, I’d say they’re pretty old.  Circa 1950. These were kept by a local fellow (Norm Smith) who used to work for the railroads in this area. He is now retired. Anytime he would hear about a station that was about to be boarded up he would go treasure hunting. He was nice enough to sell me some of the items that he had collected in quantity over the years.

They show a few light rust marks.  The one in the picture is typical. They came from the estate of the late Larry "The Bottleman" Johnson, who was a friend. Larry was a picker his whole life, and he will be missed by the antique community.

Vintage 5 1/2" wide 1940s linen postcard. It pictures a black guy in a tophat sitting on an alligator with other alligators all around. Front says "Taking it easy in Florida at the St. Augustine Alligator and Ostrich Farm". Back Says "Florida Souvenir Co., St. Augustine, FL.". The St. Augustine Farm, Zoological Park, where these were found, is one of Florida's oldest tourist attractions, and has been around since 1893. It has it's own official designation as a U. S. Historical District. These are unused old stock in excellent condition.

Found at the old defunct Scotten Dillon plant in Detroit many years ago. Excellent unused condition.
