#ZLC220 - Angus Bull Brand Sweet Potato Crate Label
9" wide vintage Angus Bull brand crate label from the Wimberley Co. in Church Point, LA. Says "Angus Bull Louisiana Sweet Potatoes". There are from around the 1940s and are great art work. Unlike today, the whole point of the pictures on crate labels was to get your attention. They didn't care if the subject matter was related to the product. It was just about making you look. This is a good example of a crazy one. It pictures an Angus Bull with a giant sweet potato! Excellent unused condition.

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 1 3/8" wide intaglio. These are very high quality with silver reverse painted details in incised glass. The edges have very fancy bevels. Very detailed picture of a single propeller airplane. These are German glass from the 1930s or earlier. The boxes they were in were marked West Germany from when they were repackaged and sold after WWII. The glass is crystal clear on these. Any color you see in the scan is from a reflection. Intaglios were a type of art glass that involved incising glass to create pictures. The incised area is then reverse painted.!
#BA127 - Large Pete Rose Breaks Cobb's 4192 Hit Record Pinback
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage large 3 1/2" diameter Pete Rose pinback that says "Rose Breaks Cobb's Record" "4192" "Copyright 1985". These are from September 8th 1985 when Pete broke Cobb's record. They were sold around the stadium that day, and are licensed items. Some were confiscated by police from a vendor selling without a license, and ended up getting sold at the local police auction years later. That is where these came from. Unsold old stock in excellent unused condition. They are starting to show some very minor signs of aging, but you will find none nicer, and there never were very many.
##MUSICBP2005 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Four Dancing Grateful Dead Bears
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 5" wide Grateful Dead sticker/decal. These are high quality art decals that were made for car windows. I peeled the cover off for the picture. They are in mint condition and can still be used. This one is from around 1990. It features four Grateful Dead bears dancing.
These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These 1995 and older stickers are very hard to find anymore.

#ZZA156 - Pacific Ocean Park 1¢ Arcade Hopalong Cassidy Bill Boyd Card
This is a very rare Ocean Park Penny Arcade 4 in 1 card featuring Hopalong Cassidy (Bill Boyd who played Hopalong) with a signature on the upper left. Excellent unused condition. This is a cool card. It also has Buster Crabbe with a signature on the lower right. Ocean Park was built in Santa Monica, CA in 1958 and closed in 1967. It was a very large park that was built to compete with Disneyland. However, city planners, in an effort to renew the area, demolished buildings and closed streets all around the park so people couldn't find there way in. Even though it was a huge park, it was forced to close it's doors and the contents were auctioned off in 1968. These cards are marked "Pacific Ocean Park Arcade 1¢" on the front and have a postcard back.
