#BF241 - Unusual and Rare Gayla Cola Soda Cap - Contained Coca Leaf (cocaine)

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage unusual and rare cork lined Gayla Cola soda bottle cap. 1940s . Incredibly, these are marked "Extractions of Kola, Coca Leaf, Essential Oils". Now of course, Coca Leaf contains cocaine. I am not sure how they got away with this. The side of the caps are marked "Booth Bottling Company Inc., Philadelphia, PA.". Additionally, there is some gay interest with this name. They are in unused condition. They are very nice for a cap from this time period. They only show very minor signs of aging. They came from the estate of the late Larry "The Bottleman" Johnson, who was a friend. Larry was a picker his whole life, and he will be missed by the antique community.

#BEADS0209 - Christmas Colored Brass and Copper Coated Glass Bead Drops - Pick your color

Vintage Christmas colored glass balls in brass cages on a copper wire. The total length on the red one is 30mm. The length on the green one is 35mm. All you have to do is put these on an earring hook and they are ready to go. You could put one or more on each earring for some Christmas cheer. The tags are marked made in Japan and they are from around 1960. They have a little aging, but it adds to their charm. These are old unsold store stock that we picked up on our recent buying trip on the east coast.

This item is from our recent trip. We just returned from our east coast buying trip very very excited. We found two separate warehouses with beads, cameos, cabochons, and other stuff too that went all the way back to as far as the early 1900s. They are both closeout businesses that have been around for a long long time. Yes, they are still out there. A lot of these items are very rare. We found over 100 catalog items!! It's pretty amazing, and very exciting!

#SIGN006 - Florida Valencia Oranges Sign

Vintage color 14" wide cardboard store sign. Colorful picture of a hand showing the size of an old glass with the words "Drink a Full Big Glass Every Day". The space to the left was where they wrote the prices. Uncommon sign. These are from somewhere between 1952 and 1956 when the image on this sign was the logo that appeared on most advertising for Florida oranges. They came from the basement of a large store in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania called Trimble's. The store got signs with their deliveries and threw them in piles in the basement. One of our long time customers rescued these (thank's Bob) and a number of others. They were never used, and are in very good condition, but some do have minor small age stains near the edges.
