##MUSICGD2004 - Grateful Dead Tour Sticker/Decal - Bertha in Ring of Roses
##MUSICGD2004 - Grateful Dead Tour Sticker/Decal - Bertha in Ring of Roses
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 5" tall Grateful Dead sticker/decal. These are high quality art decals. This type sticks on the outside of glass or a mirror. It is in mint condition and can still be used. They are likely from around the mid to late 1980s and feature the famous Grateful Dead character deemed "Bertha" after one of their songs. This has a yellow Bertha skull peering out from a wreath of roses.

These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These 1995 and older stickers are very hard to find anymore.

You get the letterhead and blotter for $1 (that's 50¢ each). Here's something I've never seen before. Standard size 3 1/4" wide calling card that is thick and has a pink blotter backing. #TMSpirits070 - Group of 12 Cinci Cream Lager Beer Menu Signs
#TMSpirits070 - Group of 12 Cinci Cream Lager Beer Menu Signs
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get 12 for $3 (that's 25¢ each).  Vintage 11" tall thin cardboard Cinci Cream Lager Beer advertising menu sheet. They were given to restaurants to list their daily specials or other items on and tack on the wall. Back around 1880, Cincinnati was the beer capital of the world. More beer was sold from Cincinnati breweries than anywhere in the world, and it was widely claimed to be the best in the world. In 1882, a company in Canada started making what they called Cincinnati Cream beer to capitalize on the phenomena. They supposedly copied the beer recipe from a Cincinnati company whose name they would not divulge. Apparently it worked as they were in business for a long long time. Around the 1970s, the beer was imported back in the U.S. because of it's popularity in Canada. These are from that time period. Excellent unused condition from the distributor warehouse in Baltimore, MD.
