##MUSICGD2024 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Skeleton on a Horse
##MUSICGD2024 - Grateful Dead Car Window Tour Sticker/Decal - Skeleton on a Horse
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 5" square Grateful Dead sticker/decal. These are high quality art decals that were made for car windows. I peeled the cover off for the picture. They are in mint condition and can still be used. This one is features a skeleton on a horse jumping out of the brain socked of the Steal your Face character. Marked Copyright Grant 1990. Excellent unused condition.

These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These 1995 and older stickers are very hard to find anymore.

#CH326-23 - Lucille Ball Miss Grant Takes Richmond Movie Poster/Broadside
#CH326-23 - Lucille Ball Miss Grant Takes Richmond Movie Poster/Broadside
Vintage 13" tall paper movie poster/broadside from the 1949 Lucille Ball and William Holden movie "Miss Grant Takes Richmond". Please click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Back in the day, when a new movie was going to play at the local theatre, there would be a guy who would run around town tacking these things on bulletin boards, telephone poles, fence posts, or anyplace else where they might be seen. Because most were outdoors, few have survived. Some will have small edge tears or roughness, but this is true of all paper movie broadsides, and they can easily be trimmed for framing. Although, a few small imperfections kind of adds to the look with these. Colors vary. We got them from the estate of famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist. He found them in the storage area of an old theatre up in Northeast Ohio.

#BGTransport085 - Calling Card/Mini Blotter and Letterhead from a 1930s Ford/Firestone Dealership - Putnam
#BGTransport085 - Calling Card/Mini Blotter and Letterhead from a 1930s Ford/Firestone Dealership - Putnam
You get the letterhead and blotter for $1 (that's 50¢ each). Here's something I've never seen before. Standard size 3 1/4" wide calling card that is thick and has a pink blotter backing. It's a calling card mini blotter! They have a four digit phone number and say "E. W. Putnam Ford Parts and Ford repairing a specialty.........." "Peabody, Mass". You will also get an unused 8 1/2" tall letterhead from the same dealership. It has a cartoon at the top and says "You wreck 'em" "Zowie" "We repair just like new" "This is great" "Tired, Tubes, Auto Accessories, Brake Service, and Greasing". They have a 193_ date on them too. These are both in unused condition.  Paper does show minor typical paper aging (colors have darkened a little), but it adds to their charm. We had just a very few unused envelopes out of this place too, and they had a Firestone logo on them.
