Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get 12 for 96¢ (that's 8¢ each). Vintage 6mm blue glass Japanese Millefiori Flower Beads. The word "Millefiori" is Italian and means 1000 flowers. To make these flower patterns on the beads is labor intensive and requires hand cutting a hot cane of glass that has been patterned. These are unsold old stock from a warehouse on the West Coast. They were made in Japan and were imported in the late 1960s during the flower power hippie craze. They are all handmade and so the sizes will vary a little and they may not all be perfectly round. Excellent condition.

#BEADS0885 - Strand of 24 Large Cherry Brand Glass 11mm Fire Engine Red Baroque (Dimpled) Glass Beads
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. You get Approximately 24 Beads for $3.50 (14¢ each). Vintage temporary strand of fancy Cherry Brand Japanese Baroque beads. They are large heavy 11mm diameter solid colored fire engine red glass beads. The glass is very beautiful with dimples (they called it Baroque on the master case). These were made by hand using old techniques. The crude shapes and unusual dimple really enhance the look. These are 1940s Cherry Brand (company only existed from 1946 - 1951). As you may know, Cherry Brand was considered the highest quality Japanese bead maker. This is a very fresh find we made from a dealer in New York who originally purchased them in the 1940s. These are very hard to find, very nice, and have never seen the light of day. Click on the image to see a larger picture with more detail.

#CH326-10 - Rochester in "What's Buzzin' Cousin?" Movie Poster Broadside
#CH326-10 - Rochester in "What's Buzzin' Cousin?" Movie Poster Broadside
Vintage 13" tall paper movie poster/broadside from the 1943 movie "What's Buzzin' Cousin?".  "Rochester" was well known as the Butler on the Jack Benny Radio Show where he became the first African American to have a regular role on a Nationwide radio program. Ann Miller got top billing in this movie, but Rochester was the big draw. It says "Rochester's Clowning is good for the funny bone", and he is wearing a butler outfit in the picture. Please click the picture to see a more detailed image. Back in the day, when a new movie was going to play at the local theatre, there would be a guy who would run around town tacking these things on bulletin boards, telephone poles, fence posts, or anyplace else where they might be seen. Because most were outdoors, few have survived. Some will have small edge tears or roughness, but this is true of all paper movie broadsides, and they can easily be trimmed for framing. Although, a few small imperfections kind of adds to the look with these. Colors vary. We got them from the estate of famous dealer and friend Bob Secrist. He found them in the storage area of an old theatre up in Northeast Ohio.
