#TY523 - Very Old Tin Litho Drug Store Candy Container with 1914 Date
Vintage 3" wide tin litho candy container. These were made by the West  Bros. Company of Westmoreland, PA in the mid 1910s. This one is a drug store and has the 1914 date on top of the doorway. They have cutout windows so kids could see the candy inside. The tin building sat over a glass container with candy in it.  Very few of the bases have ever been found, and as you can see, these have no bases. You can find out more about these in the authoritative book "The Complete American Glass Containers Handbook".  These were never used, and are in excellent condition for lithographed tin from their era, but do show aging. This is one of the hardest ones to find.

They have a little typical warping from laying in one position all these years, but stretch back out. We found these in storage at a warehouse in northern Ohio. Colors vary. Old gauze Halloween items are getting very scarce.

They show a few very light rust marks.  They came from the estate of the late Larry "The Bottleman" Johnson, who was a friend. Larry was a picker his whole life, and he will be missed by the antique community.

Vintage 14" wide Square Deal Tobacco Label. These are from the early 1900s when the "Square Deal" was Theodore Roosevelt's motto. Some of the labels from this company featured his image.  Unfortunately, this one doesn't.  They are still a very old and uncommon piece of tobacco and political history. Says "Square Deal" "Every Man Wants a Square Deal" "5¢ Straight". Says they were manufactured to retail at not more than 5¢ and are so tax paid. Unused old factory stock in great condition. These went on a box. Nice unused old factory stock in excellent condition for their age, but they do show paper again and a few edge bites that could be easily trimmed.

It pictures a detailed historical scene of a horse drawn carriage delivering Coke across the Fourth Y Bridge in Zanesville, Ohio back in the day. They have a Leslie Cope signature with a date of 1984. The reverse tells the story of the bridge and it's proximity to the Zanesville Coke plant back in the day. These were made for the Zanesville, Ohio Coke plant. Excellent unused condition. NO FOREIGN ORDERS.

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 5 1/2" wide postcard with custom car maker, George Barris' Voxmobile Car pictured. The car was commissioned by Vox Amps in the shape of a guitar. The car included working vox amps, keyboards and guitar racks. It was intentionally designed as a tribute to the music and psychedelic culture of the time. The house in back of it says Flower Power and has hippie sayings on it. The girl in front of the car is in full hippie garb. George created the car in 1967 and it was a huge hit. It toured the country along with a lot of his other cars. These are postcard size prints put out by model kit maker AMT.
