#HH162 - Unusual Eerie Sounding Occupied Germany Halloween Noisemaker
Vintage 8 1/2" tall metal and wood Halloween noisemaker. They are embossed "Germany Zone" in about the middle of the back side. They are from the German Occupation period after WWII which lasted from about 1945 till the early 1950s. The box was marked Halloween Noisemakers. These are the only examples we have ever seen and they don't show up in any of the books that we can find. The way they word is that you depress the tin sheet towards the iron handle and shake it just a little and it makes a loud very eerie sound a little like a saw bending back and forth. The tin has a nice aging patina on it.  They are unused stock from an old store up around Pittsburgh. Rare Halloween item.
