This vintage 4 1/2" tall laminated crew pass was for the MTV Shady National Convention.  This was a mock-convention in honor of the debut of Eminem's satellite radio station, Shade 45 held on November 13, 2004.  Carson Daly and Vanessa Lachey hosted the event, and Donald Trump endorsed/introduced Eminem as part of the show.  Some of the other members of the sketches were 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, P. Diddy, the members of D12, and many more.

The cat heads and sitting cats are deep black glass washed with gilding that were made in Bohemia (part of Czechoslovakia) over 30 years ago. The factory shut down 30 some years ago. So, they are at least 30 years old and could be older as they had been in business since a little before WW11 and these were in storage. There are three types. One is 13mm high and has a hole running from the top of the cat's head and out under his chin. Both sides of the bead have the identical black cat head on them. The second one is identical in size and details to the first, but has the holes running from side to side right under the ears. The third type is a 15mm tall sitting cat. The back side of this one has the back on the cat on it. We've also listed some very nice spacer beads that are a brassy gold color that goes very well with these beads (you can see them in the picture), and are about 40-50 years old.

  
These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These 1995 and older stickers are very hard to find anymore.
