##MUSICBQ0221 - 1986 The Doors Licensed Pinback Button from "Button-Up"
##MUSICBQ0221 - 1986 The Doors Licensed Pinback Button from "Button-Up"
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage colorful picture of The Doors with Jim Morrison. Marked "Copyright 1986 Doors" around the rim, and from the late 1980s. It also says "Button-Up Co. 2011 Austin" (Please note - 2011 Austin Drive, Troy MI was their address, and the "2011" is often mistaken for the date - they are substantially older than that). These licensed types are very scarce, yet easy to identify by the licensing info on the side of the button. Most of the musical pinbacks that you see for sale on Ebay or other online sites are reproductions. These licensed types retail for much higher prices. We uncovered them very recently in an old vending warehouse here locally. Jim Morrison and the Doors, were of course, one of the most famous groups of all time. Excellent unused condition.

Group/Artist Name: The Doors

Years Active: 1965 - 73

Genre: Rock

On the front, they say "Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Inc. of Alexandria, MINN" and has a Coke logo saying "It's the Real Thing" above it. The reverse explains you collect these "Bucks" by turning in bottle caps from any product made at the Alexandria plant. You got 3 auction bucks for one bottle cap, six auction bucks for an empty can, or 9 auction bucks for a Re-Sealable Enclosure. The plant then held a big auction on "May 1st, 1976" (explanation on the back of the bucks) where you could only bid with auction bucks for items such as cases of Coca Cola, cassettes, toy wagons, radios, etc. These are in exceptional condition. These are from a huge collection of Coke items a friend had who searched old bottling plants and hauled this stuff out many years ago.
