Don passed in 2021 (1937-2021), and Phil passed in 2014 (1939-2014). They are in excellent unused condition and came from the collection of Steve Rosen.

##MUSICBP1996 - 1986 Jean Michel Jarre OTTO Laminated Backstage Pass from the "Rendez-Vous" Concert - Record Shattering Event
##MUSICBP1996 - 1986 Jean Michel Jarre OTTO Laminated Backstage Pass from the "Rendez-Vous" Concert - Record Shattering Event

Click the picture to see a more detailed image of both sides of the pass. This pass is from the April 5th, 1986 Renez-vous concert in Houston (marked as such) honoring the Space Shuttle Challenger astronauts who perished. It was a record shattering light show that put lights on buildings all over Houston coordinated with playing by Jarre and other famous people including some astronauts. It shattered all past Guinness Book of Records concert attendances when an incredible 1.5 million people showed up!!!! This is a real piece of history. Incredibly, the old Guinness record was over 1 million people attending a similar event for Bastille Day in France in 1979 which was also an Jean Michel Jarre event. To top it all off, in 1990, he topped the record again by getting 2.5 million people to show up for his show celebrating the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. But it didn't end there. The most mind boggling of all was the 3.5 million people that showed up for his concert celebrating the 850th birthday of Moscow!

#TZCards144 - 12 Different Horoscope Cards with Witches and Black Cats
#TZCards144 - 12 Different Horoscope Cards with Witches and Black Cats
You get 12 different astrology cards for $6 (that's 50¢ each). Vintage 5 3/8" tall Exhibit Supply Horoscope Reading Cards. These are fantastic and should be a hit with the Halloween collectors and card collectors. They picture a lady fortune teller with black cats, bats, owls, frogs, and witches on brooms printed all over the card. Each one has the same pictures on it, but different horoscope readings. The copyright date is 1925, which is the date the machines that dispensed these for a penny were originally made. The Exhibit Supply Company made them for the machines for many years after. These are very uncommon cards. These are super rare and in near perfect condition.

We have a large lot of Exhibit Supply cards that we found in unopened bricks (you can see a picture of some of the bricks at the top of this department (Trading Card Shop). They are from a closed penny arcade. This is about the only way you would ever be able to find complete sets. The problem still is that there are more of some cards than others, so we can't assemble as many sets as you might think. These cards are uncommon. They are difficult to date because many of the machines were in production in the 1930s and 40s, but Exhibit Supply made cards for many of them all the way up to the early 1970s. The tale end stuff generally used lighter colored cardboard backing and printing on the bricks was stamped. The older ones have separate printed labels. So, we are using that info and the aging on the brick wrappers to estimate dates. The arcade must have bought the bricks of these during different time periods. Some are the light backs and some are the darker backs. We'll call it circa 1950s as some of these bricks are really old.

#BEADS0045 - Group of 200 Smaller Red Glass White Heart Trade Beads
#BEADS0045 - Group of 200 Smaller Red Glass White Heart Trade Beads
Price is less than 3¢ per bead and 200 beads will make a strand over 24" long. These are red Venetian Glass White Heart Beads, also known as Cornaline d'Aleppo. They have a white center and were widely used by American Indians and in the African bead trade. Sizes vary a lot. These are from the early 1900s. Red was highly prized and the most expensive bead back in the day because it required a tiny amount of gold to get the red color.

Here's the incredible story. In 1898, the Societa Veneziana Conterie Consortium was formed. It was a group of 16 bead makers who put their beads in one place so they could be sold by one sales force. Some of the stock was old when it came there in 1898 (these are those)! In recent times, the consortium was dissolved and the remaining 400,000 plus pounds of beads were sold to an American Indian Trading post. We were able to get ahold of a good quantity of the oldest types (the wrapping confirms the are pre WWI). All were made between the 1800s and 1920. They are an incredible bargain. The picture shows a typical group, but there will be some variance. We used a 20cc measuring scoop, did a rough count, and poured them a bag.

##MUSICGD2069 - Grateful Dead Tour Sticker/Decal - State of Massachusetts with Bear and Steal Your Face
##MUSICGD2069 - Grateful Dead Tour Sticker/Decal - State of Massachusetts with Bear and Steal Your Face
Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 4" square Grateful Dead sticker/decal. These are high quality art decals. This type sticks on the outside of glass or a mirror or your pocket. They are in mint condition and can still be used. This one is from the 1980s. The decal features a Grateful Dead bear standing against the State of walking across a backwards image of the State of Massachusetts. This all appears in the place where the brain should be in a Steal Your Face (Grateful Dead character) skull. These were made for various states and sold when the tour went to a certain state. This is the Massachusetts version. Excellent unused condition.

These Grateful Dead stickers/decals are old tour merchandise. I found them wrapped in plastic in boxes in master cases. They came from a distributor who sold them to tour vendors. The condition is pristine and they still will work as a car decal or window/mirror sticker. We found them packed away in storage boxes dated 1992 (many are older than that) and 1995 (year Jerry Garcia died). They are high quality artist renderings of Grateful Dead themes. Back in the day, the Dead did not monitor copyrights and that sort of thing, and in fact, at one point encouraged artists to do designs. The LA times explained it well “The Grateful Dead was famously lax in enforcing it’s intellectual property rights and trademarks, allowing fans to create their own designs using the band’s expansive iconography”. Since there was no serious monitoring or much concern back then, a lot of up and coming artists got involved in designing them. This is how some of them got their starts. Some of the sticker artists who designed these stickers went on to produce official licensed works for the Grateful Dead and other famous groups. These stickers include some by now famous designers including David Opie, and others. These 1995 and older stickers are very hard to find anymore.
