#CH098 - Gene Autry The Strawberry Roan Movie Poster

I certainly didn't expect this. I found these buried in the stack of paper movie posters we had that came out of an old theatre. Vintage 1948 movie posters that say "Gene Autry and his famous horse Champion - The Strawberry Roan". They are 12 3/4" tall. They also say "Hear Autry sing The Strawberry Roan, When the White Roses Bloom in Red River Valley, The Angel Song, Can't Shake the Sands of Texas from my Shoes, and Texas Sandman". They are in great shape, but may have some very tiny edge tears and paper aging. Please note that these are old originals (like all of our merchandise). I've never seen these before anywhere and I doubt too many Gene Autry collectors will have one. Our price seems way too low to me, but what the heck.

#CH384.1 - Charlie Chaplain Silent Movie Handbill - Fall of Babylon

OK guys. Something like this is uncommon. Vintage Charlie Chaplain items like this are nearly impossible to find. They came out of an old theatre in Brooklyn, NY. They are 11" tall thin paper handbills that they passed out in front of the theater to attact customers. It advertises D. W. Griffith's The Fall of Babylon which was made in 1919, so that is the time period these are from. It shows the second feature was Charlie Chaplan's comedy "Carman" which was made in 1917. This was the era of the silent movie and so it says "music throughout the entire show". What that means is that some guy played the organ while you watched the silent movies. This is a very good piece and we are proud to be able to offer it. These are the only examples we've ever seen. We bought them right and so are passing them on at an amazing price.
