#ZLT015 - Dan Patch Cut Plug Tobacco Wrapper
Vintage Dan Patch tobacco wrapper. Unused stock from the Scotten, Dillon Company, Detroit, Michigan. Dan Patch was one of the most famous race horses in history. He was retired in 1909. These are from right around then or a little earlier. A large lot of old boxes and paper were found at the Scotten Dillon warehouse many years ago. We just picked up several different types from the guy who rescued them and they are some of the oldest ones that were found. They are very nice and in excellent condition. The entire label is 12" long and wrapped around a plug of tobacco. The image pictured showed up on the front and is about 4" wide.

These were sold by stores, and distributed as carnival prizes. The 3¢ stamp mark on the back dates them between 1958 and 1962. They are marked Trilby Posters, Venice California and have a place for a 3¢ stamp. Instead of postcard, it says poster-card and Shirley Temple along with a 1949 copyright date on the back.

It was built in 1969 by Jay Ohrberg (famous for building many cars for movies - KITT from Nightrider and the DeLorien in Back to the future to name a couple), and was featured in the opening of the Pink Panther TV series. The reverse pictures mostly Reisner cars in black and white, and tells you how to get official show car decals. These are high quality prints that were produced around 1969, and are in excellent unused condition.

There was a series of these "Groupie" passes that Def Leppard used, that are collected. They are called Dik Likker passes. If you notice, this one has an eye, a swallow (bird), and a seaman behind the wheel.  Put it all together. Eye Swallow Seaman. Excellent unused condition.

#UPaper174 - Group of 4 Merchandise Tags from the Janney Dry Goods & Notions Co.

They have sharp metal prongs that clips them together over a dry good. Says "Janney Dry Goods & Notions Co." and has lines to list the item and price. Janney was in Fredericksburg, VA, and used the Dry Goods name in the late 1920s into the 1930s.  We acquired them from the estate of Zane Shaffer who was one of the largest country store dealers on the East Coast. Excellent unused condition.
