#SIGN170 - Rare Early B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge "Hello Bill" Flag Pin - As low as $1 each

Click the picture to see a larger more detailed image. Vintage 2" long paper flag on a 2 1/2" wide metal pin for the B.P.O.E. Elks with the traditional "Hello Bill" greeting. The greeting started in 1897 at the Elks National Reunion in Minneapolis, and these are from around that time period. Back in the day, when a visitor came, they told them to go talk to Brother Billy Goddard which is how it all started. From there it spread to Elk lodges all over the country where it has become a traditional greeting. These early ones are very rare and in great shape for their age.

#TY554 - Crystal Eye Mrs. Santa Claus Doll Mask
These were part of a fad in the 1960s and 1970s.  Kleenex had a promotion where you sent away for parts like this and they showed you how to make a doll. This one was just the head. There were several variations. People used this one to make Mrs. Santa Claus. These heads are about 4" tall and made of a rubbery plastic material that is bendable. The eyes are three dimensional plastic and sparkly (the carton they were in said doll masks with crystal eyes). I found them sealed in their original cellophane wrapping and they are in excellent like new condition. I'm sure you doll collectors out there will know more about these. We just found these in a warehouse very near here we have been trying to get in for 20 years!

Ocean Park was built in Santa Monica, CA in 1958 and closed in 1967. It was a very large park that was built to compete with Disneyland. However, city planners, in an effort to renew the area, demolished buildings and closed streets all around the park so people couldn't find there way in. Even though it was a huge park, it was forced to close it's doors and the contents were auctioned off in 1968. These cards are marked "Pacific Ocean Park Arcade 1¢" on the front and have a postcard back.
